  1. I just looked through my emails, and it looks like my decision was released on 2/1, and financial aid info arrived shortly after. I asked for more aid on 2/16, and they replied on the decision date (which was 2/22). For anyone looking to apply to DE programs this year, I recommend treating it more like medical school than nursing school. Research the programs, apply broadly, and know that ultimately, these programs should want you as much as you want to go! Accumulate as many admissions options as you can (and that you can afford to apply to). You'd be surprised how far down wait lists go, and how flexible a program can be for aid.
  2. Hello, just wanted to comment and say best of luck to everyone! I applied and got into Yale's WH program last year. It was one of the best days of my life! Applying, interviewing and getting in a huge accomplish in itself. I ended up declining, because they only initially offered no scholarships, and then I got some aid after negotiating. I also worked full time before applying, so I didn't have a "need." I know others who got more based on need, but I ended up declining to go to Simmons. Simmons was much more generous and lower cost overall ($120k or so). Plus, it's more doable to work during Simmons' entire program due to their scheduling. Also know that a good chunk of students who are admitted will decline. I know several who did. So if you're on the wait list, don't lose hope. If you're set on Yale, and applying elsewhere, definitely save your aid offer letters as leverage. Best of luck!
  3. I can DM you! For everyone else lurking, I'm happy to explain a little bit of how I did mine (I was accepted into 6 different MSN programs, and feel confident about my materials). I graduated college in 2014, and incorporated a little bit from college, my career, and my clinical/volunteer experiences. I had two versions: a 3-4 page version for schools that didn't have a limit and accepted a CV-style resume, and a 2 page version. For my 2 page version I used for most schools, I listed my clinical material at the top, which I felt was most relevant. Then I listed my non-clinical work experience (all framed in the context of how it can be beneficial to nursing school), then I listed all of my non-clinical volunteer experiences as "Community Service." I tried to mostly focus on the last 5 years, which I read was most important for admissions. This means I didn't include everything, but I included my best/most relevant experiences. My resume has a lot of text, so I manipulated the margins and used big bold print at the top of the headings. Hope this helps! Good luck❤️
  4. I received both - an email notification about an update to my portal and an email letting me know the news.
  5. FYI I got accepted off the waitlist for FNP today, but will be likely declining due to already being committed to another school.
  6. Waitlisted for FNP! It's okay, I was already pretty set on another school ?
  7. Awesome! I applied and ended up declining Yale- their program is amazing and I bet it'll be great. I'm also very excited to try the east coast! Best of luck to you. Hopefully we get these answers from UCSF sooner rather than later.
  8. Honestly after this week, I'm 99% sure I'm going to Simmons in Boston. They gave me a generously financial aid package, have been really solid in their communication, turned around admission decisions in less than 2 months, and gave plenty of time for us to decide and submit a deposit. It's really frustrating because I live in Oakland and would love to stay and serve my community and be in familiar surroundings, but it's getting down to the wire, and who knows when I'll know my financial aid package (my Simmons deposit is due Monday).
  9. Ugh! I'm frustrated at the delay too. That being said, I'm happy to offer support to anyone trying to move here quickly. I've lived in Oakland for the last 5 years, and am happy to give tips on finding housing/FB groups/neighborhoods ? Luckily the rental market is a lot more chill here compared to a few years ago!
  10. I was accepted to a few schools, but am between Simmons in Boston and UCSF for FNP. I have a good scholarship for Simmons and am leaning that way! I have to submit my deposit to 3/21.
  11. Oh my. Thanks so much for sharing this. This gives me less than a week between my top 2 schools to decide ?
  12. ?? I really hope they tell us before Friday!
  13. Is anyone else trying to figure out financial aid ASAP from UCSF if accepted? I have a few other program deadlines approaching and it will be a major factor for me. I'm a little stressed that the information may not be available right away.
  14. I declined for WHNP. I negotiated for aid, since I was originally offered none, and they offered me $10k on the day of the deadline. I sent my other offer letters from other schools, and would recommend any future cohorts reading this to do so. Ultimately it wasn't enough aid compared to my (likely) final choice of Simmons ? good luck everyone!
  15. Thanks for sharing! I'm leaning towards declining UCLA but am taking the weekend to think about it.
