Hi everyone! I have started working on my application for the UCLA MECN program for Fall 2022 and didn't see a forum so I decided to make one so we can experience this process together and help each other out!! ?

That's my concern too. 21 months is a long time to rely on student loans to get by. I'm going to call/email on Monday to ask some questions.

@Cmayerick

Hi Courtney, I received the same email as you. I had the same thoughts/questions! If current UCLA MECN students could offer insight on this it would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I have not received any email. Does that mean I didn’t get in? Like did anyone not receive anything yet?

I’m so glad it’s not just me! Half of me is super stoked/relieved/excited, while the other half is like mmm yeah maybe just chill with all that til you get this “official letter”…

I haven’t received anything still. I’m taking it as a rejection based on that they’ve already extended waitlist invites to at least 20 people ?

I heard one year they let in 20 people. Most years it seems like 10-13 people were taken.

@kayh08 thank you, I have a little bit of hope now. ?

Yeah I haven’t either and I think it’s safe to say we didn’t get in as they’ve already sent out wait list decisions as well.

Not getting in is merely a small bump along the way don’t forget that!

I’m still holding hope. I mean why wouldn’t they release rejections at the same time? It seems cruel to make us wait longer like someone had said? Like if anyone decides to email them please let me know!

You didn’t hear anything until Feb 20th that you got accepted or you got notified you got off the waitlist?

Got accepted. I was not on the wait-list

Thanks for sharing this! I so value hearing current student experiences. Do you think you'll work again in any future semesters?

I plan on working until the end of this year. I'm lucky to have a job that is flexible with my schedule. Winter of your first year and fall of your 2nd year are the hardest.

Hey @Cmayerick I got the exact same email as u at 8 am I was hesitant at first but I read everything thoroughly and sent it out to my family to see if I was so excited that I was missing something. Everyone agreed with me that I got in all we need to do now is submit the transcript and take epidemiology. I’m 99%sure we were admitted
