Hi everyone! I have started working on my application for the UCLA MECN program for Fall 2022 and didn't see a forum so I decided to make one so we can experience this process together and help each other out!! ?

I'm glad I got accepted to Mount Saint Mary's ABSN program this Summer but I'm scared that I'll start the program there and get accepted from UCLA by Fall ?
I am thinking about applying there too since the cost of the program is lower than UCLA

I saw this, and am going to call today or tomorrow to get more specific details. I have a high EFC due to working full time in nonprofits in the last 5 years, so knowing average aid and whether it's need based or merit will impact my decision...

I'm not sure. I asked the SON if students can do a Teaching Assistant position, but they said it's not likely. Since the first quarter is mostly classes, I'm sure a remote job is definitely possible! If anything, you can always start the job and leave if you feel overwhelmed with work.
Thanks for sharing this! Any MECNs lurking who can speak to this? I was also in undergrad full time but always worked 20-30 hours no problem, and currently am working 3 jobs and want to know if it's truly impossible to work throughout the program.
also for stats, I had a 3.9 undergrad GPA and 4.0 prereq GPA, and worked/volunteered as a doula, CNA and as a greeter at a vaccine site. I think my hours were maybe 200-300. I also volunteered in the political world for a lot of hours which I talked about in my app.

Hi everyone, congrats on getting in! I'm a MECN 1 and working during the fall quarter is doable, a lot of us kept our jobs part time. However, Winter quarter is not possible. You will be taking 6 classes, 1 skills lab and clinical (on top of everything else).

Thanks for sharing this! How do you like it thus far?

Its honestly a great program, the people are amazing and the professors are so kind and knowledgeable! It is probably the hardest thing I've ever done though LOL there's definitely days where I'm drained, but Im grateful every day

Hello!
Do you know if anyone in SON TA's? One of my past professors asked me if I would like to TA in the Summer / Fall (and possibly beyond), but I'm not sure if it is allowed. I plan on reaching out to the SON Financial Aid, but didn't know if you knew anything!
