Hello all, I'm preparing to apply to UCLA's Master's Entry Clinical Nurse (MECN) program, and so have decided to start a thread for others that planning to also apply and/or interested.
Taking into consideration that admissions begin September 1, 2017 and end on November 1, 2017, this conversation will hopefully progress from now (the lead up) through the time of notification for acceptance/denial/waitlist (between February and April 2018).
In the meantime, is anyone planning to attend any of the upcoming information sessions?
Hi guys, long time lurker. I called MC today to verify if it is an acceptance letter and he said yes. We will receive a full letter in a few weeks (instead of just an email). I was in such shock. I'm going to call tomorrow and make sure I heard everything correctly. If anyone else contacts MC or RF, please keep us updated.
Congrats to everyone who received an acceptance letter! I didn't get anything today but trying not to lose hope yet. Can someone who got the acceptance email tell is if they all got it at 12:30 PST? I was just wondering if it was sent as a group or its possible that they are sending them individually and I could still hear within the next few days. From what I can tell, the waitlist letters come later and there's a good chance of getting off of it. Best of luck to everyone still waiting anxiously!!!
Hi @Monsie86! I hope that you are enjoying the program and your cohort! I was wondering if you would be willing to answer a few questions about the program for me. I was notified yesterday that I was accepted to the program for Fall 2018, and I am thrilled!!
Questions:
I know they do not recommend working during the program, but are you open to sharing whether you worked during the program? Also, are the classes spread out between day/night and throughout the week or all they clumped into 3 days a week for example? I am just trying to get an idea if whether or not I will be able to work part time during the program. I briefly spoke with a 2017 graduate of the program and she told me she worked full-time throughout the program, but I didn't get a chance to ask her about the class schedule and times.
If there are any other helpful tips and/or info about the program you would be willing to share, I would greatly appreciate it!
Hello! Good luck with your applications. I was accepted into the cohort starting this Fall and graduating in 2019.I would HIGHLY suggest attending the info session, and start working on your statement NOW.
Just fyi, the application opened late last year (I believe 9/26) so don't freak out if that happens to you. Just have everything you need prepared. The application deadline was NOT pushed back even though the application opened late

Yeah, I got the same letter. I was worried it is not the admission letter. But the last paragraph says "congratulations". It is a little confusing. But I took it as an admission letter. Haha
