  1. How do you feel about your chance of acceptance into the UCLA MECN program?

Hello all, I'm preparing to apply to UCLA's Master's Entry Clinical Nurse (MECN) program, and so have decided to start a thread for others that planning to also apply and/or interested.

Taking into consideration that admissions begin September 1, 2017 and end on November 1, 2017, this conversation will hopefully progress from now (the lead up) through the time of notification for acceptance/denial/waitlist (between February and April 2018).

In the meantime, is anyone planning to attend any of the upcoming information sessions?

So im guessing acceptances 2/26, waitlist notifications 2/27 and then rejections the 28th ? :(

I'm 17th on the waitlist but will most likely be giving up my spot to attend APU instead (if they even go through that much of the waitlist).

I'm 16th!

This is so nerve racking!

A friend of mine is not on this thread Nan's also got accepted yesterday.

I wonder what are the chances from getting in from the waitlist!

I wonder what are the chances from getting in from the waitlist!

I think last year 13 people were accepted from the waitlist and the year before that was like 20 from looking at previous threads. There is still hope, best of luck!

Ahh, I hope this isn't the end! I've not received anything as of yet....previous years have speculated that if your portal says something like, "You will be contacted soon regarding your decision" it was a rejection, whereas if it says, "To date, no decision has been made" you'd likely get either an acceptance or waitlist. I'm gonna hold on to this glimmer of hope for now because mine says the latter :/

For those accepted, congrats! If there is a FB group made, could someone comment on how many members are on it? It's hard to gauge how many people have already been accepted since not everyone uses this site.

Thank you for the updates and support! Mine still says "to date, no decision has been made" as well. It's nice to know at least we'll know by Friday and I can move on instead of checking my email every 5 minutes. I've become much more aware of how many spam emails I receive. Haha.

Does anyone have the "you will be contacted soon..." message? At this point I still have the "no decision" message but I'm curious.

From all of the digging I have done from previous years, they tend to send out acceptances via email first. Next, they send out to those whom have been wait listed. I do not know approximately how high up they go with the number of wait listed applicants. If you are number 20, you are technically borderline to make it into the program (with some exceptions) some years differ than others.

With others here already talking about being wait listed as numbers 16 and 17, my only assumptions are those of us who have no yet heard are either;

1. On hold to add to wait list since people who have been accepted need to accept their acceptances by a certain deadline, so if you are so far up their maximum number of wait list applicants and a few people fall off it could bring you in to receive a wait list number.

2. Somehow possibly but very unlikely have been overlooked and potentially missed the acceptance email and have been accepted (which has never happened according to the forums here, [check your spam])

3. Just flat out rejected.

I think ALL the acceptances have already been given out (remember its only approx. 70 and about 8-12 people in here have already gotten in, so lets say 10 here got accepted, that leaves a remaining 60 spots open which give me a 12% chance of slipping through the cracks assuming 500 total applicants... lol ) it's just wait list and rejections from here on out. Rejections seem to come last since they need to be certain with their limit on those of which are being accepted/wait listed.

Any who, congrats to those who got in, definitely well deserved. If you make that wait list and you have a decently low number I would consider yourself in. Spots will open up 100%. I still have that slither of hope and hope all of us here get in. It's not official until I receive some letter telling me I am not accepted.

I agree with the points DEE LOW made above.

Anyone out there waitlisted with a top 10 rank? Don't think we heard from any of them. Also, was anyone accepted today?

So far my status is still "no decision made..." but I'm aware of the dreaded, "you should hear from your school soon.." Seems like nobody has that status yet

Congrats to everyone who got in!

Hey everyone, first time poster here but Ive been following this thread for a while.

I received my acceptance email yesterday at around 2:30 pm PST and my status has not changed and reads "To date, ...." From what I understand the portal is run by the Graduate School and according to the email, it will take about 2-3 weeks to receive everything from the Graduate School so I am guessing the status won't change for a while.

In addition, I applied last year and did not get in. I never received an email stating that. I received a letter in the mail dated February 13 2017 which is around the time when they made decisions last year.

Good luck to all of you still waiting.

Hi, for last year's application, did your status ever change to "you should hear from your school soon.."? Or did your status remain "no decision made..." when you got your rejection letter by mail?

Congrats on getting in! That shows perseverance and I'm sure you'll do well at UCLA!

My status didn't change up until the time I got the rejection letter in the mail. After that I didn't bother going back and checking so I can't say wether it changed or not later on.
