Hello all, I'm preparing to apply to UCLA's Master's Entry Clinical Nurse (MECN) program, and so have decided to start a thread for others that planning to also apply and/or interested.

Taking into consideration that admissions begin September 1, 2017 and end on November 1, 2017, this conversation will hopefully progress from now (the lead up) through the time of notification for acceptance/denial/waitlist (between February and April 2018).

In the meantime, is anyone planning to attend any of the upcoming information sessions?

I just checked my status on the graduate page and I got the dreaded, "You should soon be receiving a response directly from your major program regarding a decision on your application." I'm sure this changed over night because I checked yesterday evening, and that message was not there.

Good luck to everyone else!

Can anyone who's been accepted tell us their stats so we can improve for next years cycle?

I assume your status changed as well? Sorry I am not trying to add insult to injury. We just have to improve some, and I'm sure we will get in to a different program if not here. What's comforting is that I've seen people apply and reapply 2, 3 times and they all get in somewhere.

I, too, would like to know stats from people who got accepted to improve just to get an idea what MECN looks for in a student.

For the people who got accepted, how long do you have before you have to put down a deposit?

they did not ask for a deposit yet because they said the official letter will come in 2-3 weeks. the email just said to email back and say if we intend to enroll by march 16th

Does anyone know when they'll tell us if we got rejected? I probably got denied but I just want them to send us an email asap stating so for me to get closure :'D

First time posting here but been following this thread. I got the dreaded "You should soon be receiving a response directly..." response but no email yet. Feeling sad.

Did anyone get any emails today that are still waiting to hear back?

My friend received his acceptance letter today at 12:30PST

Was your friend initially on the waitlist?

Did your friend have the message on his portal, "You should soon be receiving a response directly from your major program regarding a decision on your application."???

We both checked our portal this morning and his status did NOT change to "You should soon be receiving..." but mine did ): And no he was not on the waitlist. Regardless, we shouldn't lose hope until we receive our final decision
