Hey, I am currently getting ready to apply to the UCLA MECN program. I went to UCLA yesterday to meet with the nursing advisor and since I have 2 C's, one in psych and one in Stats, she advised me to repeat one of them because I can't have more than one C on my transcripts. I plan on taking Micro this fall. In terms of work experience, I work with an agency facilitating care for end of life patients. I really want to get into the UCLA program but I will also be applying to CSULA, CSUN, CSUCI, CSUSM and USF, Western and
Anyway, I just wanted to create a thread for those applying same time as I so we can discuss. Fyi I will be attending the info session on July 26!
I really want to specialize though so I'm kind of bummed that the MECN doesn't offer a specialty, I would have to do a post-masters program.
How many classes can you have in progress when applying?
If a class is repeated, do they average the two or disregard the lower grade totally?
How much is the program in total?
Do MECN graduates make more in terms of salary than BSNs?

No problem!Does anyone still have the "to date no decisions has been made.." status?
Yes in in waitlist #17, but my status stills says "
[h=1][/h]To date, no decision has been made on your application.
Please note that most decisions on graduate admissions for fall term are made in the months of March and April and therefore you should not anticipate a decision much before that time period."
Like Rhonda said, I went ahead and registers for epidemiology. But the fees are damn scary 😊. At this point, I'm totally confused. I'm just hoping that USD accepts me

@tigerlilym8 I'm feeling the same way. There is still an ounce of hope in me. I worked very hard this year in improving my application since i was waitlisted last year but i guess we just have to sit still & hope for the best
what was your number in the waitlist last year? I have been waitlisted. #17í ½í¸”í ½í¸”
I couldn't find the email but remember it was pretty high (38 or 39) im sure you'll get in. They at least accept up to #20 from what ive read in previous threads possibly bc ppl don't complete their outstanding prereqs by the start of the program. However they did change the prereq deadline this year that all must be completed by December (except epi) so not sure how it will play out this year. @amzytubies

Yeah, some students I met told me the same thing. Gotta wait and see. My fear is I don't know how long it will take them to get to my turn, should they decide to admit people from the alternate list. I don't wanna keep waiting past May.
Those that were admitted, what deadline was given to you guys to accept the admission?
Hello All,The email stated to Give them a response if intending to enroll by Feb 24th. I received an email that i was accepted but my app status says"no decision has been made in your app yet...." by the way, was it required to submit the Graduate fellowship application?
Do you mean the diversity fellowship? If you wanted to apply for that, the essay had to be submitted with your mecn app. But no, it wasn't required that you apply for any scholarship. We will also receive school of Nursing specific fellowship information in May if you want to apply for any of those
Hey everyone. I'm looking to register for nursing 50 (epidemiology) for this summer. RF told me to register as a ucla student. Am I correct in saying that I have to wait to register as a Ucla student until we receive our official letter? Anyone else in a similar situation that can shed some light?
