UCLA MECN 2017

Hey, I am currently getting ready to apply to the UCLA MECN program. I went to UCLA yesterday to meet with the nursing advisor and since I have 2 C's, one in psych and one in Stats, she advised me to repeat one of them because I can't have more than one C on my transcripts. I plan on taking Micro this fall. In terms of work experience, I work with an agency facilitating care for end of life patients. I really want to get into the UCLA program but I will also be applying to CSULA, CSUN, CSUCI, CSUSM and USF, Western and

Anyway, I just wanted to create a thread for those applying same time as I so we can discuss. Fyi I will be attending the info session on July 26!

I really want to specialize though so I'm kind of bummed that the MECN doesn't offer a specialty, I would have to do a post-masters program.

How many classes can you have in progress when applying?

If a class is repeated, do they average the two or disregard the lower grade totally?

How much is the program in total?

Do MECN graduates make more in terms of salary than BSNs?

Where are you seeing the ""You should soon be receiving a response directly from your major program regarding a decision on your application." message? I am looking on the Decision Desk App website and I don't see any change to my application status and I haven't gotten any emails at all.

Hello all,

I was admitted as well, just waiting on the Graduate Division to send an official acceptance. I was going to create a Facebook UCLA MECN Class of 2019. I will post the link here soon. Congrats to everyone who is in and looking forward to meeting you all in person.

I was notified on Wednesday, Feb 15 around 2pm.

When you check the graduate link does it give you the message "your program will notify you..."

Arey5715- Does your graduate link status show that you are accepted or does it also give you the "you will be notified soon" message?

hmm sadly I'm thinking the "You should soon be receiving a response directly from your major program regarding a decision on your application" probably means rejection. At least by digging through the 2014 thread. I saw people that got that message got rejected...:cry:

hmm sadly I'm thinking the "You will soon hear" message probably means rejection. At least by digging through the 2014 thread. People that got that message seemed to be rejected. And well, @Monsie86 got accepted and status still says no decision...I don't want to give up all hope yet but it's not looking too good right now :cry:
