UCLA MECN 2016

Hey there, I am planning on applying to the UCLA MECN 2016 program and was wondering if anyone else out there was applying as well. Just curious about other applicants and hoping to go through this application process with some other people! Would love any feedback. Thanks :)

Just got this email right now:

Hi all! I just submitted my app a couple days ago and have a few courses in progress. I'm worried it might be an issue. None of the courses are science courses (except epi), but I'm still anxious about it. I also can't believe we have to wait 5+ months to find out!

I submitted my application on Monday. I haven't received that email ...yet. Seems that I will get it soon. All of my recommendations have been submitted before I submitted my application. I wish everyone the best. I hope I get in! This is my top choice. I felt so sick and mixed emotions when I submitted it. Now we all wait till...April.!! lol

Hi everyone I'm new to this forum as well. Make sure when u submit your applications you get to the final page that says application has been submitted. I almost missed tht step because when I paid it didn't direct to the page tht said application submitted. When I logged back in it was not submitted so I'm glad tht I caught tht! Has anyone taken Epi yet? If so where?

@leojerz UCLA allows you to take Epidemiology the summer before the program begins (at UCLA). When my girlfriend was admitted to the MECN program, they let her take Epidemiology and Physiology during the summer before the Fall start of the program. Her admission was contingent on her passing those classes, so you could still be admitted even if you have prereqs left to take.

@richj86 Thank you! I heard it's expensive to take in the summer but I'll guess I'll have to take it @ UCLA if accepted. That is the only prerequisite that I have left. I would love to hear more info about the program since your girlfriend attends so please keep us informed and thnx again!
