UCLA MECN Fall 2014?

Hi- Is anyone applying to UCLA's MECN program for next fall?

Sorry, I SO did not mean to be insensitive :( and I apologize if it came across that way. I just equate my wait list position to a rejection. I feel very sorry for those of you still waiting to hear. It is a relief to at least know; I'm just disappointed. Hopefully, everyone today will be notified because it sounds like they were shooting for this Friday and I agree, the way it was done in past years was much better! Fingers crossed for those of you still waiting. You could be in the acceptance pile that ------------ hasn't notified!

Hey kuluzu,

Several pages ago someone posted that ------------ or --------------- said they were still getting out the acceptance and waitlist e-mails and that we should hear something by Friday or beginning of next week.

Argh!!!! I wrote a response but my computer crapped out while it was posting. I basically said: It's ok! I think I'm just feeling super sensitive and like a huge loser about this whole thing. It's really hard to just not know anything but already start coming to terms with an impending rejection. I HOPE lbcgrl's optimism is not for nothing and there are still acceptances to go out but I'm not holding my breath for myself....

Just for those of us still waiting for any sign of life from the SON, the contact emailed me this: "You will receive an email no later than Monday." I didn't expect anything different but I just had to ask them myself. I bet they recognize my name from the rejection pile how embarrassing.

Why cant they send rejections out today? Im assuming Im in that pile as well, so I want to be able to drown my sorrows this weekend. haha

For those of you on the waitlist, there's hope! They've taken quite a bit of people from the waitlist in past years. The #40 rings a bell but I can't say for sure. Anyway, I know a few people who are declining their spot...(waitlist and acceptance) including myself. I have already been taking steps toward doing a different program (namely, quitting my job). To switch gears this late in the game is not really an option. UCLA is a great program but at the end if the day, it didn't 100% meet my needs. I can't imagine I'm the only one who feels this way. I wouldn't be surprised if more people than usual are taken from the waitlist this year. Good luck everyone still waiting!!!

@andradejac yes I hope so! I've been reading the old forums, it seems like they do take a lot from the waitlist. I'm below 20 so hopefully I get in! :)

Wow, it looks like there are at least three people rejecting UCLA for CSULA's ABSN/EMSN program.

This type of poor admissions process is solely because UCLA does not use a CRM system to house applicant data. If they did, they could send all three statuses out with 1 click. It's so embarrassing it isn't even funny. The inefficiency that they lack keeps these people in their jobs. Would never, ever fly in the corporate world.

I don't think anybody is going to hear anything until Monday (for those of us still waiting).....unfortunately.
