UCLA MECN Fall 2014?

Hi- Is anyone applying to UCLA's MECN program for next fall?

Well, I got an e-mail this morning and I was #, wait for it, wait for it, #7_! on the Waitlist. It is in the HIGH 70's! Not sure why the Waitlist would even go up that high but it is a bit humiliating. I too put my heart and soul into the SOP and really worked hard on this application. Being given this # on the waitlist is essentially a rejection. I am a tiny bitter towards UCLA at the moment though I was accepted today into USF's program. I am still waiting on my top choice. Still, UCLA was my alma mater and I feel like they just punched me in the gut :(

I know the feeling. Ucla is my alma mater too and I thought just maybe they would give me a chance. Still no email on my end.

why didn't they send out rejections after #60? as if everyone accepted will forfeit their position.

Exactly!! It's absurd just like this whole process. I guess the good thing is that it's turned me off to the program entirely.

The humiliating part is to still be waiting for a rejection. I really prefer the way it has been done in the past, when the rejection is online and acceptance through the mail.

Did somebody say she would still be sending out MECN acceptances Monday? Or did I misread?

Yeah - it's a tiny bit insensitive to say that your place on the wait list is humiliating. At least it's not a straight up rejection....
