UCLA MECN Fall 2014?

Published

Hi- Is anyone applying to UCLA's MECN program for next fall?

Mine also changed... Oy vey!

It's still better than the mepn for csudh. They opened all of my official transcripts, and sent a letter saying the program would be closed for 2014. The transcripts were a requirement for their mandatory workshop.

Those things are pricey.

Happy Easter! Hopefully we'll hear from UCLA tomorrow... "may the odds be ever in your favor."

Oh my gosh transcripts ARE SO expensive! I had to rush some over to a different program, and each one was 10 bucks. I can't believe they opened them if they didn't even need them.

Transcripts are ridiculously expensive. Starting May 1st, UCI will charge $17 for each one. its outrageous.

This am in response to an inquiry I sent mid last week, I got an email from the admissions office saying all decisions would go out this week.

Here's the exact quote: "Decisions will be completed this week."

I thought it would be done by 5PM today (Monday) but sounds like it might not...

Hang in there everyone!!!

haha this is insane! I got an e-mail on Friday saying I'd get an e-mail no later than this Monday. I guess it's changed... I don't mind completely, because not knowing yet is keeping some hope alive.

Just got a quick response from the admissions dept.. so far, the top 3 have been admitted off the wait list.

Top 3 already, heres hoping that the next 20 get aadmitted soon. I know this process has left us all with a huge :blackeye: lol..... Hope we all can put this to rest soon

Of course I am just guessing but it seems that those of us who haven't heard from UCLA yet must be in the rejection pile. I def. don't want to take anyone's hope away (including my own!) but it seems logical. They have to send out acceptances first, then wait list. As they hear from the accepted people, they can start contacting the wait-listed group. So if they're already accepted 3 people from the wait list group, that means they've heard from all accepted already. Did they forget about the rejected applicants? Last year the ones who were flat out rejected seemed to have heard first via email. Hmmm... I know it's a great program and they have a lot of work to do but it does seem to drag it out for those of us who haven't heard anything.

On a side note: a friend of mine who did her Master's in Public Policy at UCLA told me she received notification that she was on the wait list only to find out later she'd been given misinformation and had actually been accepted. (D'OH!)
