UCLA MECN Fall 2014?

Published

Hi- Is anyone applying to UCLA's MECN program for next fall?

I bet you're right...I wasn't at a California university and we didn't shut down on the "student" breaks. Crap! Wishful thinking.

I work part time at UC Berkeley and we're not closed this week for spring break (but I definitely took time off to relax during break!!) However, we're on the semester system and not on the quarter system-- not sure if that matters or not. Either way, I'd bet admissions would probably want a day or two off from reviewing applications so I'm not going to expect to hear anything until mid-April.

who knows, I'm probably wrong. Either way, its torture...we all want our decisions. Has anyone heard back from other schools and made a concrete decision on either to wait for UCLA or not?? JW

I work directly with professors and graduate students for my department at UCLA. We don't get spring break off, if anything if we wanted to do so we would have to use our own personal vacation days. It's super busy right now, a lot of us are preparing for graduation ceremonies, and taking in incoming graduate students. With one person down, I can understand how busy it is for them to finish everything else on top of admissions.

Thank you for the update. :)

I am so confused and anxious! Ok so, I got accepted into California State University, Northridge's Accelerated BSN program. Which is good, because now I know for sure I will be going to nursing school. But it's also bad, because UCLA is my number one choice, as its an MSN program and a BADA** school..and I have to accept CSUN by April 1!! I guess I will accept the position and just hold off on paying $112 for the background check for AS LONG AS I CAN before hearing from UCLA.. quel nightmare!

Definitely take the position. Check to see if the background check can be used at either school. I just put down a $500 deposit to hold a seat at another entry level program. It is the price we have to pay to get where we want to go. Congrats on the acceptance!!

@robyntakesiteasy Oh my gosh I'm in the exact same situation!! I'm relieved to know that I made it into CSUN, but UCLA is my top choice as well... Like you, I'm going to go ahead and register at CSUN to be safe. Anywho, congrats!!

congrats to you guys! @Curandera86 @robyntakesiteasy

Definitely take it as a back up! either way, you're going to nursing school.:)

Thank you all very much for the congratulations! It does feel pretty good to at least know I'm about to finally start school. I will reserve my spot while I'm on the edge of my seat for UCLA...

And congratulations to you too @curandera86! Hopefully we will be classmates (at UCLA though!!). Do you know how it works? Can we just reserve our spots and kind of procrastinate on the background check...?? Another poster mentioned that it might work for both schools, so that might be worth looking into.

i got into UCI's BSN program and i had to accept their offer on Jan 2nd. thankful that i UCI doesn't need me to put down a deposit :)
