  1. Well count me among the ranks who decided to finally email ----------- in order to obtain an official rejection. He apologetically emailed back with the (unsurprising) news that I was not admitted. Last year I would have anticipated being completely distraught at the news, but it stings A LOT less than I thought it would. I couldn't have chosen a better year to be rejected. Time for a glass of wine LOL
  2. @halliesf Haha ok my dear, The designation of your top nursing program should occur after exploring and researching it in order to ensure that it’s a good fit for you. Scour past UCLA MECN threads, attend the Information Session offered, and speak to alumni if you can. Anywho, when you peruse this thread thoroughly, you’ll realize that acceptances haven’t gone out yet, and that it’s MECN not MEPN. Good luck to you!
  3. @robyntakesiteasy Oh my gosh I'm in the exact same situation!! I'm relieved to know that I made it into CSUN, but UCLA is my top choice as well... Like you, I'm going to go ahead and register at CSUN to be safe. Anywho, congrats!!
  4. Yayyy!! I got into Summer Congrats everyone! And chin up to those who didn't, wishing you guys the best.
  5. You know what I did right after the earthquake this morning? I checked my status. Ugh, nothing new! Happy St. Patty's Day!
  6. Thank you Binky16! I took the first option offered, which was March 10th. Ugh these coming weeks are going to be a bit stressful for us since it looks like we're both waiting on CSUN & UCLA I hope we both get lucky!
  7. Hi all! Just wanted to let you know that I received a call this morning to schedule an interview, so I guess they're still in the process of calling. I am very surprised as I had assumed that they were done. Hope those of you waiting receive a call as well! Good luck
  8. Oh my, I hope your right! The waiting is excruciating :/ I'll say a little prayer for us all
  9. Hmmmm I don't see any online information about this year's orientation dates, but last year's MECN thread indicates that they had a two-day orientation on July 31st and August 1st.
  10. @max79 Thanks for sharing the admission info! Appreciate it. I’ve taken up meditation to help with the anxious waiting actually haha @annemareb During the summer info session ----------------- said that they do not defer admissions
  11. Hi cj! Yes I also heard a rumor about the CSULA tuition increase, but unfortunately, I haven't discovered anything concrete or final yet. Good luck w/ your submission this week peppymint!
  12. Well I attended one of the information sessions and they said that your Statement of Purpose is your chance to tell the reviewer about yourself. They want to know WHY nursing. They want to see that you’ve gained exposure to the nursing profession and that you understand what it’s about (via volunteering or work). They also discouraged applicants from singularly focusing on the typical ‘sick relative’ story. Don’t fret about it; try to speak from your heart. I’m applying to CSUN & CSULA as well. I contemplated Mt. St Mary’s too, but the tuition is outrageous. Where are you applying? Good luck writing dear J
  13. Hi ceecoxy! I submitted my application on Wednesday. UCLA’s MECN program is my top choice; I don’t know how I’m going to endure months of anxious waiting. Have you finished your app yet?
