Hi- Is anyone applying to UCLA's MECN program for next fall?
I just want to confirm what max79 wrote a few posts ago. Although I was told (and still have the email!) in Oct. by the Admissions office that they were accepting 90 students, I asked them again and today I got this response:
We will accept anywhere between 60-90 students per year, last year we were at 90 but this year we got word that 70 will be accepted for Fall 2014.
I guess there was a change since October. Anyway, max79 is correct and there will only be 70 students in the fall 2014 MECN program.
(D'OH!)

Sigh. Like it wasn't already competitive. My hopes are dwindling.
I applied last year and kind of rushed my application -- not to mention I still needed to take several prerequisites. Logged into my account March 1st and saw the rejection immediately Definitely have done a TON in this past year. Hoping for better news this time around!
@bruin2010 I also went for undergrad & never left the area! UCLA is also my top choice! Would seriously love to go back :)

Like @myck706, I'm also in my 1st year in the program. I know it's easy to be chewing your fingernails in anticipation - I think a few of my classmates were calling the office every day last year! Hard as it may be, do you best redirecting your energies positively elsewhere, just to keep yourself off that mental hamster wheel.
I was nervous of course, but I found out I was wait-listed one day, then a few days later was offered a spot. Found out while I was in jury duty, so it made the day very pleasant
If you have any questions, I'll try to answer them best I can. I wish everyone the best of luck!
