UCLA MECN Fall 2014?

Published

Hi- Is anyone applying to UCLA's MECN program for next fall?

this waiting is horrible.

It sure is! Hang in there....hopefully only another week or so!

.....*waiting impatiently* I just need to know for better or worse. My life is waiting with bated breath!

I feel the same @winchester21! My life is on hold. :nono: When does everyone think we'll hear? Last year people heard as early as March 1st though TY March 1st is on a Saturday. It seems LY some people knew they didn't get in right on 3/1. Do you think it will be the same this year?

I asked but they just told me March-April, same as the e-mail. I don't think they'll budge haha. I think since 3/1 is a saturday this year, they'll probably let us know on 3/3.

Oh my, I hope your right! The waiting is excruciating :/ I'll say a little prayer for us all

Hi everyone! I feel your guys' pain. I really do. They did let us know beginning of March and the pain is more excruciating for waitlisters. Last year they gave the accepted people ~2 weeks to accept their offer and let waitlisters know starting from the day after the deadline. I think you can also check your admission status on the website but I don't know how often it's updated.

Stumbled across the thread and now more even more anxious!

Hey guys, I'm in my first year of the program and I know how nerve wracking this is. I remember from last year that the people who were not accepted into the program were told quite early, but for those of us who were, we usually found out by mail a few days later. I actually received a scholarship so I got my email about my fellowship information before I even got my acceptance letter! Hang in there! I know it's so stressful, but you will find out soon! Good luck and feel free to ask me any questions you might have! :)

What month/date approx were you told you were wait listed and accepted? They said decisions between March-April. The two month range is a killer.

matthewandrew, I checked my old posts and realized my timing was off. I found out I was waitlisted March 5 and was offered a spot April 2, so it was about a month. I remember they had to wait for the accepted folks to confirm first, giving them a deadline of March 25 or so. After that date, they started going down the wait list.

i totally agree Binky! I'm going crazy, but luckily i have some projects and exams to distract me

I have work to distract me but obviously it's not working. :nailbiting: I may or may not be browsing this forum while at work right now.... :sarcastic:

So if you're waitlisted, what happens if you get accepted into a different school and decide to accept this other school's offer -- just in case you end up not getting into the school you were waitlisted for? If you end up getting into the original school you wanted, can you withdraw your agreement with the other school (and lose your deposit or whatever, I'm assuming) and still go to the school you were originally waitlisted for? Seems like a silly question but I realized I never asked it. Just hoping I wouldn't have to face the stress of being waitlisted!!

I think you just lose your deposit if you decide not to go to the school you accepted. Thats why some of the deposits are so high, to deter people from committing and withdrawing. I think UCLA nursing is only $150? Correct me if I'm wrong.
