UCLA MECN Fall 2014?

Hi- Is anyone applying to UCLA's MECN program for next fall?

Hi all! I think this year they are accepting 90 out of 500 so about 18%.

Hi @ceecoxy. Where did you hear that? My friend said she spoke to an admissions counsellor and he said 70 students, though I am sure it ends up being 90 when some don't attend. Trust me, though, I'll be happier if your info is accurate!

Hi- I just found it in an email from -------------. He emailed me this in October. Said they now take 90 per year.

When I was at the info day in August, they said that there are 90 seats available and to fill all of them they went 34 deep into the wait list (for the 2013 cohort). If that is the case then there is a 20 to 25% chance of getting in. 124/500 apps are offered admission. Not too bad. UCLA has the biggest cohort of many entry level masters programs in So Cal. I am trying to remain optimistic!

I agree! I can only hope that it is early March like it has been in past years. This whole process is so stressful (and long)!

Thanks max79! AND at least they give people their rank if they are wait listed. Some schools do not even do that. We will know exactly where we stand in as little as 5 weeks!

I heard from someone that wait-listed people found out as late as June or July that they'd been accepted. But I think those are only a few people...

I applied to the FNP program. I wonder if our decisions are sent out the same time as the MECN. Anyways... the anticipation continues!
