UCLA MECN Fall 2011

Hello,

I saw that the MECN application for UCLA has been posted today. Is anyone applying to the Fall 2011 program?? I haven't found a thread going on yet...Maybe we can share our questions/concerns regarding the application process here.

Well BuMan I was a little dissapointed because I have worked my butt off to get all my stuff done. My grades are excellent so I am a little suprised. Were you at the Interview earlier this month? Congrats on Vanderbilt! its nice to know someone will take you.

Ocennia, I am from NC so I really hope you get in there if you dont get in at UCLA. ITs such a beautiful place and both of those schools are excellent.

I'm in the MECN program and I can confirm what Lisapett said. I talked to one of the people making admission decisions yesterday and was told that all final decisions would be made by the end of the day Monday. So, I would guess you'll hear by the very latest the end of next week but possibly sooner. Good luck!

i'm totally dying here!! unfortunately, this was the only school i was able to apply to because i'm finishing up my last two prereqs, not to mention i have kids so i can't move.

i won't be able to concentrate on anything until i know...

I couldn't sleep last night just thinking about it. I really hope we find out soon so I can know either way. This is torture. Glad I have you guys to talk to cuz I was driving my family and friends crazy. LOL

i totally want to ask mark when the decisions will be posted online, but i've already bugged him once, so i don't want to email him again! (hint, hint)

I wonder if they'll post on the grad website sooner?..... Although if it's bad news I'm not sure I want to find out from that website, what a let down that would be. I'm getting more and more nervous - I didn't think it was possible to be this uneasy!!!! I think the scariest thing is we don't know the competition we're up against or exactly what the admissions committee is looking for. OYE! good luck guys!

I just spoke with Mark. He said decisions were made last night and it's a process to sort everything in the computer so he said by the end of the week we should have our letters and we can check online maybe within the next couple days. He wasn't sure on an exact date or time.

i think mark told someone that we'll be able to check the decision status on the website before we get letters via snail mail. but who knows when that'll be.

Hey guys. I am a first year MECN. Last year we were all notified by mail before the decisions were posted online, so you can give your index finger a break and hassle the mail man instead! Good luck everyone. I know how anxious this time can be. I remember this time last year very clearly!
