UCLA MECN Fall 2011

Hello,

I saw that the MECN application for UCLA has been posted today. Is anyone applying to the Fall 2011 program?? I haven't found a thread going on yet...Maybe we can share our questions/concerns regarding the application process here.

Well it's almost the end of the business day so I think we may have to wait until tomorrow for any updates on the decision status.

hey how did you know you didn't get into USD? i still didn't get anything in the mail or email :( has anyone?? nor did i get anything from ucla :(

I didn't get into USD either Bethany. But all is not lost, I did get accepted at Vanderbilt. Still waiting to hear from USF, Mass General and UCLA.

Hi Sugarplumkitty -- I received a letter in the mail from USD; wasn't asked to interview. Have you been following the USD forum...a good number of people have been notified. Excited to see how these others are going to play out before making a final decision.

yes i have.. i still have not received anything yet :( and no1 has really updated so far... still playing the waiting game. i think i got waitlisted/rejected after my interview though..

I know I didn't get in because I called this am and they told me everyone who got in was notified by email last week. Everyone else with be notified if they were waitlisted by mail. :-( I interviewed and everything too :-(

No, I rushed home to see if I got anything but nothing yet. Someone else I know hasn't gotten anything yet either.

You got into Vanderbilt but not USD? Too funny! It makes you wonder how these schools actually really make their decisions. =/

Hi ADEcstatic - Exactly, Vanderbilt is a yes and USD is a no. Go figure - I don't get it either. Beyond the obvious admission criteria, I believe there is a huge luck component in the process because everywhere it seems that the applicant pools are huge! I'm sure these decisions must be tough for the schools since they obviously have to turn away so many qualified people. Hopefully we'll get the UCLA news no later than week's end. Good luck!

Hey all, just an FYI. My friend is in the MECN program now and she was talking to somw of the faculty and they told her that they are making the final decisions today. So noone has been accepted yet and decision letters should be mailed out over the next few weeks. Just dont worry if you don't get a letter this week because they haven't even mailed them yet according to the faculty.
