Hello,
I saw that the MECN application for UCLA has been posted today. Is anyone applying to the Fall 2011 program?? I haven't found a thread going on yet...Maybe we can share our questions/concerns regarding the application process here.
The application for UCLA was the exact same application as Duke. Duke sent out their admission decisions electronically only. I have a feeling that UCLA will probably do the same and not mail out anything. I could be wrong- but I agree with Sam198, the size of the envelope isn't a big deal- good things come in small packages :)
Hang in there.. the wait is almost over. I think we all received our acceptance notifications via email (not absolutely sure about rejections/waitlists) and that was in early March. But in general envelope size is not a reliable indicator so OPEN the envelope before you collapse into fetal position. For instance UCSF's initial offer to interview was small, thin envelope I remember. Anyway good luck everyone!
Haha thanks Sandman, that made me laugh (the fetal position comment). Is there any point in checking the "decision status" link on their website? I've been checking it obsessively but I think that it's not updated until later...
and i thought i was the only one checking the decision status on the grad website! i have a feeling they update it AFTER people are notified of their admission status. but that still doesn't stop me from logging in.
omg i had no idea you can check your decision status online. where exactly is the link located?
here you go:
https://www.gradadmissions.ucla.edu/newapp/Login.asp?topage=AdmissionStatus.asp
but it won't be updated until after they send out acceptance/rejection emails and letters.
maybe we'll hear by next week??

I don't think the large envelope thing is true for all schools. I'm not sure about ucla though. At one school that I applied to admitted and rejected applicants all received a thin envelope with a single piece of paper. So don't get discouraged if some of your schools only send a thin one!
