I am applying and have requested all my transcripts, I did decent on the Teas test with an 86. Undergrad gpa 3.45, pre req 4.0
I went to the info session last month it was a bit of a pain :angryfire to sit through just to get the application passcode because of all the redundant you should do some research if your serious questions lol.
I am excited and hope to get in to move forward with my life goals of community health nursing.
I am also applying to UNF's program too. Their website is really detailed with everything I ever wanted to know. One of the few schools that have their stuff together.
I got accepted also, but I just can't get myself to waste an entire summer and then graduate in December and lose months of pay and experience that I need to later apply to graduate programs. I really don't understand why UF changed their curriculum like that, their "accelerated program" starts the same time as their traditional program and ends only 1 semester prior. However, the traditional program will now have the summer off so the accelerated program is just as long as the traditional.Anyway goodluck to you.
Ive been to UCF three times now, and their housing (at least compared to housing in Gainesville) isn't any good. They are very expensive and most of the complexes near campus are run down. There are a couple that are nice like The Edge, but they are currently at full capacity, and The Lofts, but ive never seen such a small bedroom! Take a tour and youll understand what I mean.
I will be starting a new thread to see if anyone is interested in a house 5-6 minutes from campus, its a 4 bedroom home in a Gated Community that costs 1500 a month. Split 4 ways, it is much less then an apartment. We currently have two bedrooms left. If anyone on this thread is interested let me know. I will post a picture of the house but you can PM for further details.
Dear UFProspect,
I could not find the thread for your house but would like to receive more information about it, if you have any rooms left. Please email with information.
My name is Katie by the way
Well just signed up for my insurance through blue cross blue shield. I went with the GoBlue plan, I know its cheap and doesn't offer a whole lot of coverage, but for $27/month I can't complain. Only thing left to do know is my CPR class on the 13th of this month and I will be done with all these requirements. Whew, I feel like that was a big hoop to jump through. Now I have to move on to looking for student loans to fund this program now. Hope everyone else is doing well with getting all their stuff in order.
Ms. Jazzo, I am taking loans as well. I have called the financial aid office about summer aid. I was told that they aren't certifying loans until students have registered for classes, which won't be until the week before class starts for us. I'm a little paranoid about how that will work!
Any UCF grads? We don't have to go to the regular UCF orientation right?
Juliehope42, Glad to know Im not the only one paranoid about this whole summer loan thing! It is strange that they do it so late...especially for someone like me who likes to plan in advance. I have never gone through the financial aid thing before and I am pretty sure everyone at the financial aid office is sick of me calling with all my questions!
I am a UCF grad as well and we do not have to go through the UCF orientation again...one less thing we have to do : )

Me too! This financial aid thing makes me nervous as well...I emailed them today asking about the award information. From what I understand the award info goes out during mid April, but you have to be enrolled at-least half-time to receive aid. So does that mean we won't get anything until we can register for all our classes? I haven't heard back from them yet...what have you heard from them?
Does anyone know how to find the facebook page that was created for us? I tried searching for it but no luck.
I was notified by allnurses that I am not allowed to post the link in accordance with the forum's terms and services but if you search for UCF Accelerated BSN 2010-2011 that is the exact group title.
The financial aid office hates me . I've emailed them about 100 times with a ton of questions. They told me they will not certifying loans until we are registered for classes. I asked the Nursing Dept what to do. One lady said they could write a letter for the financial aid dept to let them know we wouldn't be registered until mid-May. The financial aid dept said they would not accept this. I'm at a loss. I get very confused about financial aid - I've never used it before.

UCFRN2010 - I am pretty sure that someone said the college checks the forms on Magnus, and they just haven't done so yet.
I am signing up for the Go Blue plan. Only thing is they have no hospital coverage, but I know they have separate plans that you can add on to get hospital coverage.
ms.jazzo - I plan on getting the Stafford Loan. From what I understand there really isn't much financial aid available if you already have a bachelor's. I filled out the FAFSA and everything and I have spoken to the financial aid office many times at UCF, they say they will release financial aid award info mid - end of April. If you want to get a head start go on the UCF Financial aid website and do your intrance online "interview" as well as the master promissory note. Also, since disbursements are not released until 2 weeks after classes start I plan to do a tuition deferment until the funds are available. There is also a book program that you can get up to $600 advance to purchase books, although I think ours are around $2000 so the rest would have to be out of pocket.
