UC Davis New Grad Residency Fall 2020

Is anyone planning on applying? Application period opens up April 29th. I am curious how it will work out with unit placement when so many programs in CA did not get to finish their preceptorships.

I interviewed with them as well. It was a phone interview. They asked about:

- How you served as a leader and outcomes?

- A time you were with a disciplinary team in a stressful situation and outcomes.

- You have a pt who came in stable. Now has impending sense of doom, cyanotic, and tachy. What are you thinking it is and what would you do?

- Why UCD?

- 2 times you've gone above and beyond in your education?

- A time you didn't have the knowledge or skills to perform a task.

- A time you dealt with a different culture.

There was more but these are the ones I remember.

As a heads up, these were all similar questions asked among the three I interviewed with.

That’s amazing! Did you not accept the other offer in the hopes of getting float? Or are you hoping for an offer from a different hospital or specialty? Just curious since they’re both amazing offers!

It was mainly a license thing. I just graduated and I really didn't think I would make it in time for Aug. I didn't think it would be fair for the manager to wait for me especially if they needed someone to start on time. So being in the Oct cohort gives that leeway.

The Aug cohort starts aug 17. The completed making offers July 17.

The might be extending more interviews for Oct cohort now.

The deadline for the August cohort has passed. They will be making calls for the October cohort now. That deadline is the end of August.

I just got a third offer from Tower 3 for the postpartum floor. It's for the Aug cohort so they're still making offers for Aug.
