UC Davis New Grad Residency Fall 2020

Published

Is anyone planning on applying? Application period opens up April 29th. I am curious how it will work out with unit placement when so many programs in CA did not get to finish their preceptorships.

No offers for me today. One of the units I interviewed with said their unit notification date would be July 14 so there may still be hope. But I did get a third interview offer for the float pool for the October cohort! They're starting to make calls!

CONGRATS on getting a third interview offer, and thanks for keeping us updated. I don’t usually do this, but can you provide your stats and preceptorship? I’m just curious since you’ve gotten so many interviews! Thanks! ?

WOW!! How did you score 3 interviews?! That's amazing! Did you do clinicals at UCD?

Thank you! Stats wise, I just graduated with my BSN in June 2020. I have no license yet. I'm external. Went to a top nursing school in the nation, worked as a CNA as a level 1 trauma center, preceptorship in a med surg unit (due to covid). GPA 3.7. ACLS, BLS, PALS. Leadership positions, research, community service stuff.

I have no idea honestly. I was shocked getting more than 1 cause I was hoping it would at least be an offer but nothing official. I think I keep sounding confused on the phone since I'm not really knowing what to expect. I didn't have clinicals at UCD. I had not connections here.

Specializes in Medical Surgical.

I don't want to say the exact one for my privacy and safety. But to give you a range it's around the same tier as Duke, John Hopkins, UCLA, UPenn.

I GOT AN OFFER! They called me just 15 minutes ago!

I didn't get a phone call or anything, does this mean I'm totally out for august? Does anyone have any info about october? ?

I’m not sure it means you’re out. I think they are making calls this week
