UC Davis MEPN 2020

Published

Hello everyone!

I did not see a thread for UC Davis MEPN 2020 start so I thought I would start this since applications open up next week ? has anyone written a personal statement? I can't find any specific guidelines for what to include

Has anyone figured out the tuition cost including estimated personal expenses (rent, health insurance, books/supplies, transportation) for the whole program? I tried to email the nursing department and Financial aid but neither department gave me a start answer. I am not looking for an exact number but at least a range to know what to expect. I found this page, but not sure how accurate it this for us. https://health.ucdavis.edu/financialaid/coa-son.html

Those numbers are very accurate ?

@hdavis2200 So is it correct to assume that depending on our living situation we can potentially deduct some of those numbers from the total cost?

yeah definitely, everything but the tuition are estimates for cost of living in sacramento, so deduct things that are not relevant to you!

Does anyone know if the cohort is already full? I wonder whether or not I should lose hope.... ?

@Anisap I emailed them this on Monday: Will the waitlisted applicants be notified if they don’t get pulled off the waitlist? Is there a date which the possibility to get pulled of the waitlist stops and the pool of cohorts gets filled? I just wanted to inquire some more information at this time during COVID occurring and being a waitlisted applicant.

This was their response: Yes, waitlisted applicants who are not admitted will receive an email from the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing and an official denial letter from UC Davis Graduate Studies. Waitlisted applicants will be considered for admission if a position in the entering class becomes available. If you are offered a position in the entering class, we will be in contact with you immediately. Please note that your waitlist status may remain until the start of the program.

Not very clear and helpful. I’m wondering the same thing

Thanks for sharing ?. A friend of mine told me SFSU program even admitted one a week after the program started.
this makes me hopeful but at the same time this wait is killing me.

Does anyone know the program dates and days for orientation and start of classes? I’m still waitlisted but curious what the timeline looks like

Orientation is half days June 30th - July 2nd and online classes start on July 6th! In person stuff 1 or 2 days a week starts the week of July 20th

Any news from people on the waitlist? Or do you think we'll hear closer to the orientation or start date?

I found out I got in off the waitlist this morning!
