Hello :)
Anyone else applying for UBC's September 2014 intake? If so, let's get through this process by communicating with each other!
I'm working on my supplemental application today. I am currently taking A&P and I'm doing miserably (but, there's still 2 tests, I can do it!!). I almost thought about not even bothering to apply. But, it's better to try and fail than not to try at all, right? I'm having the hardest time with the "Other life experiences and accomplishments" section. Is that just random tidbits that don't fit in other sections? IE: Being first of my family to ever graduate from University? I don't know... I'm having a hard time with that section!
Hey Kirota, I think being the first of your family to graduate university definitely counts. I think for that section you can put down almost anything as long as you make sure to put what you took away from it. For mine, I wrote about getting my BSc degree and how it was a steep learning curve for me at first but how I learned to study and balance school/leisure and stuff. I also wrote about my experience backpacking in South East Asia and how it broadened my horizons and made me more open minded.
Well I think I am probably the last one, lol. Just under the wire.
Speaking of minor heart-attacks, I was reading this thread (found it by googling "what the hell should i put for ubc working with people section" or something close to that) and had a mini-freak out after I read someone's post about their high school transcript. Please someone confirm that if you already have an undergraduate degree that you don't need to send HS transcript. I swear I read that somewhere, and it's under "recommended documents", not "required documents" on my app page, but I just thought I would check.

i think if you guys check your application status it should say whether all your documents are in order and is ready for review then you should be fine. I know for myself at least as a past UBC student who has completed a degree that I didn't need to submit my high school transcripts. Hope this helps. Cheers!
@J0anie @mighty_atom
indicates that high school transcript is recommended document so I don't think it really matters
Under FAQ:
Q: What is the difference between required and recommended documents?
A:UBC must receive your required documents before we can evaluate your application. Recommended documents are not needed for your admission evaluation, but they help determine whether you meet specific course pre-requisites or degree requirements

@bateaudenuit Thank you! That does explain the application upload. Maybe my nerves will finally calm lol
Best of luck to everyone that's applied! Let the waiting begin
