Anyone else applying for UBC's September 2014 intake? If so, let's get through this process by communicating with each other! :nailbiting:

Registration went well! I hope yours did too! I'm not sure when we find out our clinical placements...I'd love to hear if you get any information on that though!

Also--a reminder to anyone reading this whose accepted in the September 2016 cohort, we have a Facebook group! Just search UBC Nursing Class of 2016.

I spoke with UBC this week and they let me know that we will find out about our practicum placements the first week of September. It looks like we will submit our first 3 choices and they will try to work with that, but cannot guarantee anything. The placements can either be weekday or weekend. 1 month left to rest up before this journey begins :)

In terms of GPA...does UBC assess all 4 years of university? Or just the last two years?

I'm from Kelowna and hoping to get in for this year (2015) I have my interview on the 16th and I'm hopeful, excited, and nervous. Do you have any tips?

Is there anyone else from the Kelowna/Okanagan area that will be in the program this fall!

I'm in my first year now and it's amazing! I would prep. Focus on patient centred care, holistic care, being self reflective, open minded. Good luck!

Hey! I'm also currently in the program. Best advice I can give to those going for interviews is to read the CRNBC Professional Nursing Standards and Code of Ethics documents. There is really no "right" way to answer questions, but it helps if your answers are based on something other than personal opinion alone. Above all, just be professional. Good luck!

Hey guys!

I have my interview this year. I am kind of freaking out because im wondering how 120/200 students are chosen.

I feel like everyone is prepping.. and is going to give there answer..

If there is no right answer.. how do you get an offer/dont get an offer.

And can someone tell me a "hypothetical" question u got asked..

Don't freak out! If you are on this forum, you are already doing something right. I don't know how they score the interviews, but I have to think it comes down to how you present yourself. If you are friendly, professional, show empathy for others, and think critically about your answers, you are looking pretty good.
