@Kschribe, yes there were 120 of us accepted. Keep in mind a lot of people that are offered spots don't accept them. There are a bunch of people that were originally wait listed that got in. I'm not sure on exact numbers but I think there were quite a few.

I know the interview process can be super nerve wracking but you're all wonderful and amazing people no matter what the outcome. I got my acceptance letter around May 7th last year if that helps some of you know when you might expect something :)

Just a heads up to all you hopefuls. I got my interview invitation last year today. I know it's a holiday but my fingers are crossed for you. And if you've already received an invite then congratulations!!

@baldeagle I actually have a degree in business administration. I also went back and did all my previous requisites to get into med school but ultimately decided that nursing was where I belong. When it comes to the program itself I wouldn't necessarily say that it's hard academically. The first term is by far more difficult than this second term has been but mainly because it's just A LOT of information and things are taught differently than what I was used to. Most of our averages were above 80 for first term and you'll find that everyone is there to help you. School is no longer a competition. People in our program post notes to share with others and it makes things a lot easier when you're working together.

@baldeagle that's also a tough question!! I don't know how the supplemental scores work as they don't tell you how you scored if you get accepted to the program (at least I never inquired). I can tell you that I personally mentioned how certain life events and experiences influenced me, made me a better person and how that would help me in the field of nursing. I have an immune system disorder that affects my hair and I mentioned the importance of a support system and how community and those around you can be like family and aid in the healing process. I also mentioned how my volunteer experiences had convinced me that nursing was where I needed to be and why. It is personal but it's more about how you have been affected rather than a timeline of all the things you have done.

It's really tough to say @Hamster84! I believe someone above mentioned that the average age in the program was 27 and 90% of the people in my cohort have bachelor's degrees so it has been a while since a lot of people were in full-time studies. I know some people said their averages weren't the greatest without disclosing exactly what they were but I think it just depends on your situation and background. I really do think UBC values the different walks of life that we all come from. It's about your passion, your drive, and your life experience. What you specifically will bring to the field of nursing rather than how book smart you are. Sorry that probably wasn't much help. My fingers are crossed for you!!

Woohooo! Woke up this morning in Hong Kong to my admission offer. So happy and excited. I look forward to meeting you all in the fall.

I'm sure you all did fine!! There's no right or wrong answer and they just want to see if you possess the qualities that would make a good nurse. There no sense in worrying about what you did or didn't say. I just finished my a&p final today then off on vacation. It would be awesome to hear back before I leave or while I'm gone.

Has anyone else been looking at possible housing situations? I'd be moving to Vancouver if I get in and from what I've been looking at.. getting a 2 bedroom place with roommates is much cheaper than trying to get a 1 bedroom place. Any interest? Or are you all already local Vancouverites :)

I totally agree. I received an offer for the Queen's AST program and if I have to move across the country I'd rather know sooner than later... So holding out for UBC. I'll be on vacation until may 10th though so it would be a nice surprise to find out I got in while I'm away.

They told us offers go out at the end of the second week in May. So I'm hoping by May 9th

Got my acceptance to Queen's this morning!! Super excited but a little stressed. I have to accept/decline by May 6th, and I feel like that's super soon. I'm still hoping to hear from UBC and McMaster and I don't want to have to put down multiple deposits so I can make a decision. Any thoughts?
