  1. Crazy to think that the last time I posted on this forum, it was about applying to nursing school! I wrote the NCLEX this morning! It shut off after 75 questions and took about 2 hours. Lots of SATA questions, only a couple med questions, one drag-and-drop, one ECG, and one exhibit. For the first half of the test, I was worried because the questions seemed too easy. And then it ramped up to about 6 SATA in a row and I was actually relieved! I've gotten the "good" pop-up! Being my usual pessimistic self, I am trying really hard not to get my hopes up! My province seems to be really fast at processing results, though, so I should know by tomorrow morning! I used HURST and UWorld. My nursing program was a post-bac one and wasn't the greatest AND our curriculum didn't teach to the NCLEX (thanks Canada!), so HURST was really great getting me up to speed! I feel like HURST is great at giving you a strong foundation if you feel like your overall knowledge is pretty weak. And, if you know the material with 100% confidence, you can approach most questions with success! I got around the average of what it says you should get to pass with the Q Bank questions! I think 81/125 and 82/125? UWorld is a definite must. I really liked the rationale that it provided, and it was nice to do it after completing HURST to see how much I really knew/what I could actually apply. I only managed about 400 questions (I spent A LOT of time going through HURST and then making the entire book into cue cards...here's hoping that fun task paid off), but they were so helpful to get used to the critical thinking required to approach NCLEX questions! I think my average was about 55%? I did the assessment and scored in the 80th percentile. My advice (I say, as if I have actually passed and am a seasoned professional NCLEX writer): - Try not to do practice tests day before your exam. I did this yesterday and BOMBED them. My brain was just. not. working. My boyfriend came home to me facedown in the couch. It's just not a good idea. Go for a walk. See the outdoors. Maybe go over lab values - but try not to psych yourself out! At that point, all you need to know is already in your head! - Do lots of practice questions. I really wish I had prioritized this, because I feel like it is the best way to wrap your head around how to approach and answer these questions. And doing questions definitely makes the NCLEX less daunting. Once you're sitting there, it feels familiar and comforting and your HR can go down a bit! Good luck to everyone writing!!! Hopefully tomorrow I can finally chill out a bit - before I actually start working next week!!!
  2. Wow, it costs more than UBC? I guess it is a longer program. It's amazing they can charge so much for something that is almost entirely online, haha. I am also pretty nervous about the online aspect, I've always taken classes on campus and am worried about what the structure will be like! Basically I would just like a current student to lay out a very detailed step-by-step look at what we're in for for the next 2.25 years of our lives, because I only have a very vague idea!
  3. I'll be doing it from Abbotsford, which is pretty close to Langley thankfully!
  4. So far I'm pretty sure the program is a 'first come, first serve' type deal, as long as you have all of the pre-reqs! So basically apply for it the first day they take in applications and you're good to go, haha! Although they may add in a GPA component at some point when the program becomes more popular. I still find it very strange that the majority of the program is online! It's really nice in regards to not having to commute out there every day, but I've only ever done in-class courses! I wonder what the workload is like and if you're still able to work part-time while doing the program? Anyone else planning on working still?
  5. Hello! I emailed them a few days ago just to clarify how we submit everything and she touched on the immunization part! "For your immunization we will take it once it has been stamped and signed. If you still have outstanding immunizations once it has been stamped and signed then it is up to you to complete." So it looks like you can do them after the 19th =)
  6. I'm in the same boat! Not sure if I should get excited yet or not, haha!
  7. Just got my rejection email Honestly, though, after reading all of your bios I am not surprised! I just don't have the life experience yet to compete! I was mainly hoping my GPA and writing skills would carry me to at least an interview! Oh well, my other option is still alive. Good luck everyone!
  8. I feel ya! This whole process is painful :)
  9. Wow, they sure sent them out fast this year if that's the case!
  10. So I'm hoping by the silence no one else heard anything today?
  11. Yeah from what I've read in previous threads, people would come up with a theory and then two seconds later it would be debunked by the next person with an offer haha...that being said, I'm still going to cling to any theories that make me feel better about not hearing anything =)
  12. I have been on a continuous 'check every 5 minutes' loop since the end of last week! I am most definitely going to be a little bit crazy by the end of this whole process.
  13. Phew, just submitted! I got an error screen when I made my payment but online it says my supplemental was submitted? I've emailed them just to double check, but talk about a minor heart-attack! Now we wait!
  14. It's nice to see a lot of people are in the same boat as me! I'm still working on my supplemental section, but look forward to having everything done so I can just sit back and wait! (ok maybe not looking forward to the wait) I did my undergrad at UFV in Biology and stayed at UFV to do my anatomy courses. I sent my official transcripts about a week ago, and I believe that they just show that I am registered in the final prereq I need, and then in April I will have to send another transcript showing I've finished! I hope that's right!
