Hey guys! I just wanted to start this post for anyone applying for the 2022 cycle for UBC nursing. Just wondering where everyone is coming from and their experiences.

I’m wondering if they are talking about the transcripts only or also getting CPR-BLS and N95 fitting
Since 34 people probably got in from the waitlist last year (source: allnurses.com ?) and there are 120 seats the past year, there is a 28.3% chance that people who got in rejected their offer. If there are now 140 seats, it is likely that 39-40 people from waitlist get in this year? ?

Hey, I saw on the BC gov website it says that there are 30 new seats being added. I believe last year there were 120 seats, so I’m guessing it’s 150 seats could have read wrong but yes I agree there’s a chance that we’ll see more movement this year due to increased seats.

I think you might be right.. I just said 140 because I heard that from someone else

love the math !
Woke up this morning wishing yesterday was just a bad dream. Holding on to the hope that a lot of people on the waitlist above me accept offers at other schools so I can stay at UBC ?. But as a plan B I'm going to work on my BCIT application for Jan'23 intake (need to do Snapshot now). I thought about Langara too but I don't have the STAT prereq course. Guess I could take it online somewhere .. but how competitive is it to get into Langara , anyone know?
I'm also reminding myself that many people don't get in on their first try, I just won't give up!
I feel for all the people who didn't get in or are in high waitlist numbers. This is my third year applying and the first year I applied, I cried when I didn't get in. It's a huge let down.
I saw someone explain earlier that the 1's, 2's, 3's, 4's are also group together and compared to each other, which makes a lot of sense. Plus, there are a certain number of seats reserved for indigenous applicants...not sure if there are seats reserved for other types of applicants. This could explain why certain people are higher than others on the waitlist.
If anyone needs help with their supplemental, please feel free to message me. I have a 1 in my supplemental and had a 3 in previous years.

I have been going to Langara for my HAP courses, and it’s great there. It was easy to get in if you’re just trying to take prerequisites, and the staff is super friendly. Just explain what you’re planning to do and your educational background, and they will help you.
I mean, what you can do is take their Stats class…

I'm already attending BCIT at the moment! I was planning to transfer to UBC if I got in but unfortunately got rejected. Let me know if you have any questions about the application process!

Thank you @lotusmntnmama ! I will check it out.
I'm worried about my chances to get into the nursing program at schools other than UBC, since UBC is good that they only look at the most recent 30 credits. In my situation, my overall cumulative average grades since year 1 at UBC are not good (due to a variety of reason like health issues, having a baby, trying to go to school with a young child at home, etc). But now my 'baby' is almost 20 years old and I've been able to step up my grades a lot in the past 8 courses I've taken (mostly A's), working towards finishing my B.Sc. I'm a 'mature' student - 46 yrs old. So I am worried that other schools will look at my entire academic results, even from back in the mid-90's when I did terribly, and reject me right off the bat.
(note: my most recent 8 courses' grades are very good, but the 2 before that were not - so my overall for the past 30 credits was still not great - hence my '4' rank I got for grades)
Does anyone know if any other schools only look at more recent grades, other than UBC?
Any advice or tips would be much appreciated ?
