UBC 2022 Nursing

Published

Hey guys! I just wanted to start this post for anyone applying for the 2022 cycle for UBC nursing.  Just wondering where everyone is coming from and their experiences.

Hi! I am also going to apply for the 2022 cohort. I have a Bachelor's degree but not in nursing though.

Hi! Does anyone know whether the HAP requirements for UBC have a minimum grade you need to have? For example, I did the kin equivalent of HAP requirements back in my first year but did not get the best grades in it, and so I am redoing them (biols) at a different school now. Is this a waste of time, or does it actually make a difference WHAT grade you got in your HAP courses? :)

Hi everyone! Also planning to apply for the 2022 cohort. Just finishing up my last year, majoring in Kinesiology.

Hey everyone! I will be applying this year for the 2022 cohort, this will be my first application to UBC nursing! I'm in my last year majoring in Honours Biology at UBC ? I come from a background of clinical research and quality improvement, hoping to pursue a future in nursing research, which is why UBC is my top choice.

There is no minimum grade you need, as far as I'm aware the prerequisite only needs to be completed, it's not included in your GPA calculation.

hey guys! I'm currently trying to apply to UBC using education planner and this may be a dumb question but do we need to fill in the "additional comments" section to make our application look good?

also is it true that if you apply faster, there's a higher chance for you to get in..? I heard this from a friend who got into UBC nursing last year but didn't quite understand.

I didn't put anything ? Hopefully we didn't need to. But I looked at the supplemental application and they have quite a few questions where you can go in depth on who you are/make your application stand out.

I didn't put anything either. I'm pretty sure the supplemental application is there for a reason. Otherwise, I'm screwed ?. Also I never heard of that applying faster would give you a higher chance of getting in. Unless you're really good at getting all the necessary documents, preparing your supplemental application well, and doing the CASPER well at an early date. As for me, I'm pretty sure I will take all the time in the world in order to make my application as good as I can. I'm sure that's not the case though.

Why wouldn't the prerequisites be included in the GPA calculation? They are non-nursing courses. Can anyone confirm this?

when are you guys taking your casper test? I booked mine for Dec. 2nd.

I booked mine January 13!

Specializes in d.

Does anyone know if I can apply for another program with the same CASPer result? I understand I can only write one CASPer per admission cycle. I was wondering if we are allowed to add another institution on my distribution list?
