UBC Nursing - September 2013

Hey Everyone!

I'm hoping to apply for UBC nursing 2013, but I am a little worried as I haven't volunteered for 2 years. My question is, if I get back into volunteering this summer will my chances of being accepted be higher?

I also am an international student. I am from Washington. I do worry about this fact as well, but as long as your grades are good, and are positive good luck will come to you. :)

I spoke with a lady in admissions and she said that they are waiting for the supplemental application marks to come back, and will begin sending out invitations by the end of this week!! :)

How long do you think it will take them to send out all the invitations?

After meticulously reading through 2011/2012 threads, I'm inclined to believe that invitations are sent out based on application score versus alphabetically (which I originally thought). It seems that the bulk of invitations will take a weekish to send out. Based on older threads, it appears that rejection letters are sent out at the end (after invitations are sent out and individuals have RSVP'd).

Thanks jacsmack for the update! I assume it will take a good week or two for them to send out the invites, and as the website says everyone will be notified by the end of the first week in April. Positive thoughts for all!

Haven't heard back from them yet. I wasn't able to focus all day, knowing that invitations should be sent out sometime around this time.

Does anyone know if they actually call your references to decide if you get an interview?

I was told that they most likely won't due to the sheer number of references.
