UBC Nursing - September 2013

Published

Hey Everyone!

I'm hoping to apply for UBC nursing 2013, but I am a little worried as I haven't volunteered for 2 years. My question is, if I get back into volunteering this summer will my chances of being accepted be higher?

Thank you!

Why mature?

Does anyone know when we are suppose to hear back?!

Hi fellow nursing applicants !

I applied for winter 2013 as well, I am a bit nervous because I am applying as an international student. I am from the US my husband and I are relocating to vancouver in three weeks because of work.I was wondering if there are any other international applicants applying for the winter 2013 program? or if there are current international students enrolled in the nursing program.

From what I've heard UBC takes preference to canadian citizens.

I have a previous BSN degree, about a year of volunteer experience in a hospital and a great deal of work experience. As far as my GPA I have a 3.6 ( not sure what this is % wise in canada)

Would love to hear from fellow international applicants??

neets,

from the info session, they will start sending out interview invites around late March to early April.

Quietlyloud,

Thanks for the info... The wait sucks!!

neets,

I know what you mean. Thankfully school is keeping my mind occupied.

I'm doing Co-op right now but I just cant get my mind off nursing... the wait is so nerve wracking.

Has anyone applied to other schools?

I also applied to BCIT.

i have applied to UBC and U of T in Toronto. i wish it was April already.

Why can't you practice in Canada if you are already a nurse?

Hey future nursing students,

I'm also waiting to hear back from UBC for the September 2013 intake as well. I'm from the states (California to be exact) but I fell in Vancouver so much after visiting friends a couple of times and such that I can see myself living there long term. My husband wants to relocate to do his film gigs so it worked out well for us to relocate. I was accepted to UBC a few years ago in my senior year of high school for the college of arts and sciences but couldn't go due to financial reasons. Now that that has been settled, I reapplied as a post-bac (graduated with a degree in Kinesiology here). Hopefully they are willing to give me a second chance, let's hope for the best!

You can applied directly from high school? They told me you can only apply when you have 48 credits

My intended plan was once I got into UBC to do my pre-reqs for nursing school in either the faculty of arts or sciences...whichever one I wanted to go into. Sorry for the confusion!
