UBC Nursing - September 2013

Hey Everyone!

I'm hoping to apply for UBC nursing 2013, but I am a little worried as I haven't volunteered for 2 years. My question is, if I get back into volunteering this summer will my chances of being accepted be higher?

Thank you!

I formatted mine as paragraphs, but I'm really not sure what exactly they will be looking for!

Thanks so much!

Good luck with your application!

Im formatting mine in paragraphs as well. I also have spoken to people who have gotten in and its definately quality. How well it is written is important. Also each experience can only go in each place once - so they suggested I pick two experiences for each one and elaborate.

Is anyone else applying to both bcit and ubc?

hello all,

i transferred to sfu from langara fall 2012, and am curious as to how they will look at my grades, will they do it by last 30 credits and include my spring 2012 classes i took at langara? Or will they approach this differently

Hello everyone!

I am also looking at applying into the UBC 2013 Nursing Program. In regard to the application I was wondering if anyone had any pointers they could give? In regards to the statement "Experiences can only be listed once. If they fall into more than one category, choose the one you think most suitable" does that mean that I can only use a particular job once, or would I be able to use different aspects of the job for the different categories? Any input would be very greatly appreciated!

Hey! They are super strict about putting only one experience in each category. I went to the information night and she made that super clear. So choose what category fits it best. If you re use the same experience it makes you look less well rounded I think is the reasoning.

Thanks for the info cat5! Good luck to you on your application! It sure is stressful!

I am applying again - last year my application was incomplete because one of my transcripts from overseas didn't arrive in time.

I'm looking at my supplemental from last year and the spacing is all over the place. Once I pressed send, it must have changed format. How did you guys get your spacing and indentation to stay in place?

Care UBC - I havent submitted yet but when I do I will let you know. I have a question for you - What is the percentage for " in good standing" for the human anatomy & Phys. course? ( or BIO 153 if you took it)

I have no idea, sorry. I'm guessing it would just be around the same as the average competitive gpa to get in UBC (around 78% ish if I remember correctly?) Except because its a little more difficult than some other courses maybe its lower? Maybe you could email the advisor for a % idea. I know my Human Phys. mark was not high but that is why I'm applying to other schools too! ;)

Anyone have any insight? In the Employment and activities record section they give you up to 1000 words per job. Do they want us to actual explain what we've done and the skills we've gained? If we put down our duties and things like that in this section are we not allowed to use those experiences in other parts of our application? Or is this count seperately? Thank you!
