Alright who's applying to the UBC Vancouver BSN September 2015 intake? I'm a second year UBC science student who's applying :) Let's all support and communicate with each other for registration help and processing !
I am also hoping next week we have some news! I know my sister said it was 2 weeks after her interview so I am clutching to that! I agree with you cherries123 all I do is go over and over my interview questions! I am still finishing my A&P, one more exam to go in the next few weeks and hopefully smooth sailing from then on!
I'm sure you all did fine!! There's no right or wrong answer and they just want to see if you possess the qualities that would make a good nurse. There no sense in worrying about what you did or didn't say.
I just finished my a&p final today then off on vacation. It would be awesome to hear back before I leave or while I'm gone.
So I'm really hoping we hear back next week. I just got accepted to BCIT and I have to pay my commitment fee by the 13th. UBC is my top choice, but I don't want to shoot myself in the foot and miss my BCIT opportunity or pay the fee and then decline. BAH! Anyone else in a similar boat? How are you coping? hahaha

I'm kind of in the same boat but maybe rowing to a different shore? I've been accepted to Langara and have been weighing the pros and cons of both programs ... I am actually leaning towards Langara. UBC is obviously the "quicker" route but it seems like you get so much more hands on experience, time to study, ability to keep work part time, and the opportunity to work as ESN through the college programs. UBC seems like it would be a good choice if your long term plan is to continue to a Masters and research?
What is the big draw to UBC for you?
Has anyone else been looking at possible housing situations? I'd be moving to Vancouver if I get in and from what I've been looking at.. getting a 2 bedroom place with roommates is much cheaper than trying to get a 1 bedroom place. Any interest? Or are you all already local Vancouverites :)
You probably already know this but the Vancouver Craigslist is a good go to source for housing & furniture & stuff like that: craigslist: vancouver, BC jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events
The length of the program is a huge appeal to me, I'm nearly 30 and have done 5 years of school already so I just really want to get through it and start my career! I'm also likely going to pursue a masters eventually and was advised that UBC is a good foundation for that route. I did my undergrad at UBC so I know the campus and services and stuff, so it'll be less to learn to navigate - I don't know if this is an actual thing but it is contributing to my preference.
I have heard that Langara is an outstanding program so I'm sure it is a good choice! My stats credits 'expired' and that is not a course I want to re-do at this point in my life so Langara was off the table for me. I know BCIT is excellent too, and 3 years, so either way it'll be a good fit, but I just want to know, you know?
I'm from out of town and I was thinking to live on campus initially.. but after the interview.. I rmr they mentioned we would have our precepts all around Vancouver... so being on campus doesnt really help..
What is a good location to live in where I am close to the train... as I wont have a car..
.... all considering I even get in hahah.
Thanks

This sounds a lot like me actually! I am nearly 30, and have a degree already... my stats course is expired and I do NOT want to have to take this again haha I got in BCIT as well, and if we don't hear back from UBC before May 13th..ill pay the deposit, just in case. The fact that the UBC program is 2 years is a huge factor in my decision (if I get in, that is). I just want to be a nurse now, so the sooner I am, the better haha and 2 years without a decent salary is better than 3 years without it. I'm also interested in doing a Master's down the road...and I have been working in research for the last 8 years and would love to be able to do a bit of both..research and bedside nursing. It's still hard to choose because I've heard so many good things about BCIT. I think that if I was a bit younger, I would have leaned more towards BCIT. But whether I get in UBC or not, I'm just stoked that I'll finally start nursing school next year :)

Last year I had my interview on April 11th, 2014 and I was accepted May 7. I think they generally stick to a similar schedule each year so you should all be hearing very soon. Good luck everyone! I am sure you all did very well on your interviews!
