  1. I guess I should have included I was wait listed that is why I was frustrated after finding out how well I had done on the initial process.
  2. Hi julianth ! I received my grading and I was in the top 25% for my application, which is frustrating. I have an undergraduate degree from UBC in health, a management diploma from BCIT in healthcare management and have been working full time as a manager in an office and within the natural health field. I have been volunteering at a hospital for over a year, and also have a few practicum placements from my undergrad which may have helped me for experience. My supplemental application was very broad, with work and volunteering and also alot of travel and personal lifestyle contributions I had on it....To be honest I was surprised at first how well I did with my application..but reading it over I just can see I tried to put the best possible version of myself forward and it worked! It is such a stressful and grueling process...one thing I will say is if you get an interview in future years, please please please practice. I had practiced hundreds of questions for weeks and thought I was completely ready, but they still manage to surprise you. Its not painful, but frustrating because I know all I wanted was to get in and that decision relied on how the 7 interviewers felt based on my interviews. Anywhoo..I have applied to BCIT for January and likely will not apply to UBC if I get in.
  3. Congrats everyone who got accepted! Pianoboysam I got wait listed and I am not within the top 10 so I don't see it happening this year. Pretty disappointed but I am waiting on BCIT for January now.
  4. Hi Everyone! I applied to UBC's program and was hoping I would be getting in, but unfortunately after the interviews I am on the wait list and not within the top 10 so I will be applying to January 2016 intake for BCIT. I have a volunteered at a hospital for over a year now, have some clinical experience in a medical practice and work as a office manager currently. I completed the healthcare management program at BCIT last year, and previous to that I have a health degree from UBC. I just upgraded Human anatomy & phys because mine are from first year which is (ugh) 7 years ago now. I am really banking on BCIT for January. I also need to upgrade my highschool math because I dont have a university math just stats and BCIT advised they wont look at it.
  5. I am also hoping next week we have some news! I know my sister said it was 2 weeks after her interview so I am clutching to that! I agree with you cherries123 all I do is go over and over my interview questions! I am still finishing my A&P, one more exam to go in the next few weeks and hopefully smooth sailing from then on!
  6. Yesterday they said 2nd to 3rd week of May but when my sister did hers she said she was one of the first days of interviews and she had her offer within 2 weeks. I just want to know either way....trying to prepare myself for the worst.
  7. Hi Guys! I haven't been able to stop thinking about my interviews.....I keep second guessing myself and how I felt during them. I know I was very nervous, more so because I just want this so badly! I am glad they are over I think...I prepared the best I could have so I dont think anything could have changed there....I guess we just have to wait and see now!!!
  8. for those of you that had yours already, how did they go?
  9. nursing 2015I have a list of a bunch of questions previously asked I found online and have just been going over them and talking myself through them. What I am more curious about is are we given the question, and we sit there for 2 minutes to prep with the interviewer? or do they come in after the 2 minutes? I am not entirely sure how that works...
  10. nursing 2015 your final acceptance is based on the interview 100%, they say they do 7 interviews so they don't risk a tie, and I recall at the info session we were told the point of the interviews it to get to know you as a person, your experiences etc. They also said they understand for your first interview that you will be nervous etc. so they cut you some slack on that one.
  11. thanks ashlee88, I am trying not to! Just lots of review and refreshing....If I make it past the interview I just need a passing grade for this class...so hopefully thats the worst that could happen.
  12. ashlee88 I did my A&P through UBCO but my last class was completed in 2008, and apparently it is considered expired for entry into the nursing program, so I am working on completing it again through athabasca. I am frustrated with UBC because I spoke to someone over the phone and they advised it was fine, then a couple weeks back I was advised via email that they were considered expired...lovely! So my next 2 months is basically re-taking the class via distance...compounded with the stress of the interviews! Good luck to everyone though!
  13. There hasnt been a change online for my status either, just the email confirmation. It kinda looks as though they are sending the emails out by interview date? I was told that after all the offers had gone out they would send your rank or grade for your application. They also said they go down a list of ranking, and as people decline their offers they keep going down the list. Does anyone have any pointers who have had interviews before? I was the PDF they sent out which is the CRNBC skills and abilities, and my sister who has had the interviews a few years back said the best thing is to look over what they look for in a nurse, and try to be on point with that, but obviously organically. Its weird I feel more nervous now that I have an interview, probably because I know I am up against myself at this point! is anyone finishing Human anatomy & phys right now?
  14. Hey! I just got my offer, can hardly believe it! I haven't checked online my status yet but I was checking all morning and nothing had changed. I I got my interview for the afternoon of the 22nd!
