UBC BSN September 2015 Applicants

Published

Alright who's applying to the UBC Vancouver BSN September 2015 intake? I'm a second year UBC science student who's applying :) Let's all support and communicate with each other for registration help and processing !

Hey, does anyone know when they say 8 minute stations if that includes or excludes the 2 minutes to read? Like so if it doesnt include the 8 minutes technically its 10 minutes per station?

No, they are 8 minutes total :) I did my interview on Thursday. You get 2 minutes to read the scenario, you enter the room and have 6 minutes to answer. The invigilator comes around with 30 seconds left and knocks on the door and you have to wrap things up and leave the room.

Good luck!!

Ahhh ok thanks so much!

for those of you that had yours already, how did they go?

How is everyone finding out their rank for their GPA and supplemental application? No information about it was included on my interview invitation email and now I am curious to find out!

No, you will not be able to have either with you.. just a water bottle and that's all.

I think that information was only given out to applicants who weren't invited for interviews.

@Bee_Van5 the interview went great! The interviewers were friendly, calming, and made the experience relatively painless. We were there for about 2.5 hours from the time we arrived until the info session afterwards wrapped up. I'm very excited to hear back. They said offers will go out at the end of the 2nd week in May.

@ashlee88 Hi! Congrats on having your interview behind you, must feel great! And it sounds like you rocked it. All the best to you, girl!

Just wondering if you could suggest any tips in terms of prep. I know you have to sign a confidentiality agreement as to not share any details about the actual interview but are you able to tell me what you felt helped during your prep? I've found a bunch of sample MMI questions online that I've been going through - anything else? I have a flight over to Vancouver tomorrow and so will have a few hours to kill with some last minute prep.

Thanks for your help, take care!

Hey Krista. I used nurseone.ca. And looked at the knowledge features. It showed some current nursing issues/implications and I felt it gave me a broader knowledge on what we could run into as nurses. But honestly just be yourself. If you're meant to be a nurse you should already possess the most important qualities and you should be able to back up your opinions. Don't stress too much! You'll be great

Is today the last day of interviews?

I do believe so. I hope everyone had a good interview experience! Now the waiting... I feel like mine (on Friday) happened weeks ago, haha.
