Hi everyone,
I'm considering MEPN application to the UofA next year. I've been in touch with the advisor, Chris Sogge, for the past 3 years. I have a B.S. in Computer Science and a M.Sc. in Biology from Canada . Chris said that I need a pre-req GPA of 3.7 at least to get into the program; mine is 3.3. Do I stand any chances? Did anyone get in with lower pre-req grades? I'm trying to juggle pre-req taking with a toddler. Thanks so much for your advice!
Marina.

I confirmed this with Chiss Sogge and he confirmed this with the CastleBranch person. This way ya'll can save some $$$
My certificate is still "pending review" on CB but I will let you guys know once it is complete/approved.
@AtYourCervix247 Regarding the health insurance question - On my CastleBranch health insurance part, it says "complete" not "approved" so I am not sure?
Hi Michelle - any update on the castlebranch acceptance of the online CPR?
@cse as of today, the CPR certificate was rejected but I am looking into this because Jason (the UA guy helping us with CastleBranch) had previously told me this certificate would be accepted. I left him a voicemail as well as an email so hopefully I’ll hear back tomorrow.
Changing the subject, does anyone else have to do the Varicella vaccination sequence? I was under the impression that I would be immune because I had the chicken pox as a child but apparently not! My varicella titer came back as negative ? That means another ~$200 for me...

To be honest I was surprised they would accept an online class. All classes usually must be in person and have dummies available in order to pass the test. I have been taking it for several years now for various healthcare jobs and this has been required.
I had chicken pox as a kid and mine came back immune, crazy!! I was worried I would need more immunizations
@cse Hey so I just got off the phone with Jason! He confirmed that the online CPR course I took (website listed above on my previous comment) is definitely accepted by CastleBranch so he will be contacting them and changing my rejected to complete ?? So this is definitely an option for people wanting to save some money!
Not even 10 minutes after the phone call, it is officially “complete” woo woo!

Michelle! Thank you! I completed mine, & submitted my certificate as I have no received the card. Woo! If they don’t approve I’ll reach out to Jason as well, thank you, again!
Hi all! I'm part of the phoenix cohort ? I can't believe I just found out about this little forum. How useful! Especially because, for me, going through all of this paperwork is very stress inducing. Maybe one of my projects will be to streamline all of the necessary onboarding info into ONE document with FULL explanations of each requirement. So anyway I'm turning to this group before I ask one of the nursing advising students AGAIN what I'm supposed to do. I have my Castle Branch profile and everything, but where are you all uploading your information??? I don't see anywhere that is prompting me to upload my fingerprint clearance or specific immunizations or anything. What am I missing... Thank you for any help you can give!
