UA MEPN 2020

U.S.A. Arizona

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone,

I'm considering MEPN application to the UofA next year. I've been in touch with the advisor, Chris Sogge, for the past 3 years. I have a B.S. in Computer Science and a M.Sc. in Biology from Canada . Chris said that I need a pre-req GPA of 3.7 at least to get into the program; mine is 3.3. Do I stand any chances? Did anyone get in with lower pre-req grades? I'm trying to juggle pre-req taking with a toddler. Thanks so much for your advice!

Hello everyone,

I have recently set up my castlebranch account and uploaded most of my documents. On the OSHA and HIPAA requirement however, it has us log in to UAccess under learning. When I do this I get an error message. I contacted the help chat and they told me that my account was on Admit and when I am changed to student that this should allow me access. Has anyone else tried to access UAccess- learning? Was anyone successful?

I am having the same issue. I was able to do the HIPAA through the link on the email, but I can’t find the OSHA learning assignment.

I finally got mine done the other day and it was such a pain trying to figure it all out. Took me forever of clicking around in circles and trying different things to finally get it to work. Then when I had to go back and print the certificate bc I didn’t think I needed to the first time ?‍♀️Def would not say that was user friendly at all!!

Did you have to use Firefox to complete it like they suggest or were you able to use another browser type?

I used explorer and it worked fine. It was just knowing where to go etc.

I am having problems accessing UA Access Learning too. I keep getting an error message. Tech support said I needed to wait 24 hours. It's been 3 days and I still can't get in. What did you do to get into the Learning application? Did you have to set up an account?

I need to get on my laptop to try and pull up the link. There were two different ways to access it and one didn’t work and the other did. You do have your NetID set up right??? You have to log in with that.

I think the two ways to access it are via CB when you expand the tab there is a link and there is also a link on the UA CON webpage. The first time I tried to access I got the error message as well but then I hit back and did it again and it sent me through. After I signed in I wasn’t able to access either training but the video said it would take 24 hours from the time of logging in for the first time so guess I’ll see if I have access tomorrow. I did, however, this evening receive an email that notified me I would be able to access the HIPAA training now but nothing in regards to the OSHA one...I’ll check tomorrow after it’s been 24 hours.

This is what the homepage should look like. Has everyone who has been having trouble been able to access it? Feel free to DM me if you need any help. Like I said it took me a while to figure it all out. ?

Hi all thanks for the help with the OSHA and HIPAA sections I have also had a tough time figuring it out but hoping to have it done today after work!

I recently did my titers, TB test etc. I was wondering if anyone else is not Hep B immune... I had all the vaccinations and had no idea I was not immune until I had the titer (I Guess something I should have had done a long time ago) I have to re-start the Hep B immunization process and am worried because it is spaced out months, does anyone think this is a problem? I know they said they can work with you on deadlines if anything is in process I am just worried about having all my requirements done by the April deadline and it affecting my admission!

I had my hep b done and it said I was “non reactive” but then looking at it closer my Dr had apparently ordered the hen b surface antigen test not the surface antibody test at least that is the conclusion I came to.... on my lab website it showed all the different hep b tests and it’s no wonder she might have ordered the wrong one LOL. So not sure if I am not immune or if I just don’t have an active infection ? waiting to hear back from her today to know if I need to redo my labs or redo my vaccination. I read that if you’ve had the hep b series before that one booster shot usually is enough to boost your immunity. So you’d get the booster then in a month have your titers re tested to see if it’s high enough then continue with the series if you’re not. ?

When I went to get my titer, the nurse noticed that I never got my 3rd shot in the Hep B series. So she gave me a Heb B shot and is having my come back in 5 weeks to see if my titers come back as immune. I put my shot record into castle branch and haven’t seen anything yet about it. But the nurse (I went to Campus Health) was pretty positive that as long as I started the process I could register for classes.

OK I am relieved to know other people are also having issues with the Hep B stuff because I just thought I was all good on that front but apparently not haha.

I know there was info about adjusting deadlines for things in progress so I will just have to contact the school about it and make sure I handle the process correctly and there should not be a problem it sounds like.
