UA MEPN 2020

U.S.A. Arizona

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone,

I'm considering MEPN application to the UofA next year. I've been in touch with the advisor, Chris Sogge, for the past 3 years. I have a B.S. in Computer Science and a M.Sc. in Biology from Canada . Chris said that I need a pre-req GPA of 3.7 at least to get into the program; mine is 3.3. Do I stand any chances? Did anyone get in with lower pre-req grades? I'm trying to juggle pre-req taking with a toddler. Thanks so much for your advice!

I feel your pain! Normally I’d never post something like this but I figured at this point I have nothing left to lose ?

???

Has anyone else been switched to the Tuscon campus? I really hope I can get switched. If anyone is willing to switch with me that would be greatly appreciated. ?

Also, is there a way that we can submit comments regarding the tuition hike? Because I was basing my school choices largely off of program price and now this tuition price is as high as my most expensive option if they do change the tuition rates.

Hey guys, did you check your GradApp? There has been an update to accept your admission. It also gives your student ID so you can set up an ID to check your emails.

Update: If you can't create the UA NetID, they need 24 hrs to update the info into the system.

Yeah the tuition hike was quite unexpected...

There is a phone number they included in the email that we are to call if we have questions regarding the tuition hike. It is 520-626-3808 or you can reply directly to the email that was sent.

The tuition hike for out-of-staters is substantial; almost 29%! That is outrageous and has left me reconsidering the program completely. Nice little surprise email to send out on a Friday at 5pm, after we've been accepted and paid our application fees, and to top it off; we won't be notified of any changes until April?

I hope other out-of-state students will voice their concern to the phone number provided in the email.

Hey guys!

I am new to this forum. I was just accepted from the Alternate list this morning - I am so excited! I was offered a seat in the PHX location. I still need to apply to the Grad college. Do you guys have any tips for me? I feel a little behind!

You’re not behind at all! We just got Castlebranch log in information today. Set up your UA ID and get your email account!

Just make sure to get your fingerprint clearance card done ASAP too because that's the most out of your control as far as how long it takes.

I second this! I started the fingerprint clearance card process late January before our interviews and since I am out of state it requires paper application and mailing it to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, etc. But they have denied my fingerprints twice and I have to do it for a third time but hoping third time's the charm haha

Thank you @TCimino ! I am applying to the Grad College right now.

@JJ77 Chris said I was close to top 5 so I am thinking 6 or 7?

@Traveler H I already have my FCC card - I applied for the card before the interview because I thought we needed it for the interview.
