U Penn Second Degree ABSN 2017

Published

Hi Everyone! I have not seen a thread started for the UPenn ABSN 2017 cycle yet! I wanted to start one and see if anyone else out there wants to chat about it! Very excited to hear back this month!

I submitted my app on 10/14/16 and once all my LORs were submitted 10/28/16, I received an email my application was complete and under manage my account, it states my app is ready for review!

Exact same thing going on with me, BSN/MSN but for Women's Health. I've emailed multiple people AND called and left voicemails. Nothing.

My guess is they're waiting to finish up all the in person interviews, then they'll start thinking about phone interviews.

Hey all, got invited for the BSN/MSN in women's health interview a while back, registered online for a phone interview and have STILL not heard anything about when it will be held! Is anyone in the same boat? I tried emailing to follow-up but have not heard back.

I also got invited to interview for the BSN/MSN Women's Health track. I registered for a phone interview a while back and haven't heard anything! I've emailed a couple different people but haven't heard anything. Hoping we hear back before winter break!

Regarding the interview last Friday, it felt very relaxed and all the faculty makes you feel really comfortable. The school is pretty amazing. My interviewer asked my about 4 or 5 questions, but it felt like a conversation more than anything. Be sure to know why you want to be a NP, why you chose your specialty, and what you want to do with it. Good luck everyone!

So glad to hear I'm not the only one!!!

@jmroh, I actually just got off the phone like 20 mins ago for my FNP interview! (and crashed and burned it lol) but don't worry too much! I think they're just reaching out to people as they go, F contacted me on the 7th with two date options and one of them worked so we went ahead and scheduled it. I'm sure you'll be contacted soon :)

It looks like everyone being reviewed so far applied to the ABSN/MSN program... Looks like they're reviewing those applications first?

It's different from when I applied to the ABSN program a couple of years ago. I was invited for an interview I think a month after the application deadline that time. I hope to hear from them soon. I got accepted into Jefferson's FACT 1 year program and am required to make a $500 deposit within 3 weeks, but was hoping to at least hear from all the schools I applied to first.

Hey @raellagr, why crashed and burned it?? I had my FNP interview on the 17th as well and given that it was my first interview for anything EVER I was SUPER nervous. I think it showed and caused me to bomb my first two questions. After that I relaxed and did okay but still, I think I ruined my chances of getting an acceptance. Feeling pretty bummed. :(

I hope you all did well on your interviews! Merry Christmas!

Hi, I got an interview for the BSN/MSN (FNP) in the middle of November and I still haven't heard anything back about scheduling a phone interview time. Kind of odd since it's almost January. Anyone else still waiting to schedule a time?

That's kind of concerning. I would try to contact the school.. and you should probably do it today because most schools are closed next week for the holidays. FC contacted me (via email) in early December and asked which dates worked for me, and like I said I interviewed on the 17th.

I asked and found out that they will probably still be interviewing people in January as well. Thanks for the suggestion though!
