Yale GEPN 2018
@Mjc2005 We were supposed to hear back on March 1, but they sent out decisions early on Feb 27. So about a month after the interviews! Good luck! @kevinm23 Tuition and Fees | Yale School of Nursing Also, I am a current GEPN and I remember how helpful these threads were throughout the interview process. So if any of you have questions, I am happy to help! The waiting game is worse than the actual application process, but hang in there :)

Yale GEPN 2017
They said we would hear back before March 1st. It looks like in previous years, people would usually hear back around Feb 26-28. @Seattle3573 I applied to UPenn and Columbia. Just got an acceptance to Columbia a couple days ago, but Yale isn't number one!

Regarding the interview last Friday, it felt very relaxed and all the faculty makes you feel really comfortable. The school is pretty amazing. My interviewer asked my about 4 or 5 questions, but it felt like a conversation more than anything. Be sure to know why you want to be a NP, why you chose your specialty, and what you want to do with it. Good luck everyone!

Thanks so much for the input GEPN2016! I appreciate it, since we're all probably looking through old threads trying to find out what competitive GRE/GPA/experience is. I poured my heart out and soul into my essay about why NP/acute care/Yale. Hopefully that stands out the most. I graduate this December with a Kinesiology degree and GPA of 3.7. My GRE scores weren't the best, in the 60-67th percentile. I have worked in the ER as a medical scribe for the past 3.5 years, following and writing notes for NPs, PAs, MDs, and DOs. Also have study abroad and research experience and have been involved with a women's leadership program for some time. I know this program has a lot to do with experience OUTSIDE of healthcare, so I almost worry that I'm not diverse enough in that aspect. I will be anxiously waiting until Dec. 15th! Good luck everyone! :)

I think it is supposed to be for any explanations for any aspects of your application. Ex. if you have lower GPA or GRE scores or fired from a job, etc. Anything you want to add to you application that there is no space for. Except for the things they mentioned you should not upload (awards, honors, additions to the personal statement, letters of recommendation, etc.)

My friend said he waived his right as well. He told me that he heard it lets the recommeder be more open in what they write because they know that you won't be able to read it lol. I guess he heard that schools like their letters of rec to be well rounded with positives and negatives. Not sure how accurate this info is. Personally, I want to be able to read what they say.
