I would choose to be a respiratory therapist or a paramedic. How bout u.......
PA or FNP (FNP isn't exactly outside of nursing though). I think EMTs and Paramedics are amazing people who are horribly underpaid but I could never be one. I don't have that whole "cool in an emergency" thing going on. I did have to give emergency care to an elderly woman having a seizure at an Olive Garden once though, and I was surprisingly cool-headed but I don't think I could do it on a regular basis....
Sorry of topic but why do we need to kill deers, there is no rational demand for its meat, plus shame on people for killing mammals that dont even eat meat, but peacefully chew on grass.Kinda ironic isnt it.Ps.Well you dont need to respond, this is not my thread.
It's called a food chain. Why would any mammal (humans are mammals, too) kill another animal?
No demand for it's meat? It's meat, just like beef is. You can eat for a long time from one deer, and that takes the place of meat you'd by, instead.
I live in an area popular for deer hunting, and with good reason (I don't hunt, personally). When the deer population gets too large, you see them starving, or hit by cars on the side of the road (and please save me the argument of people building in areas and displacing animals...no one would ever be able to live ANYWHERE, with that one, and the fact remains that animals don't have the intelligence to move to other areas to protect themselves from it...hence, back to the food chain statement). Hunting done correctly is infinitely more humane than letting them starve or be hit on highways.
Pharmacy (Pharmacist) hands down. I worked in a hospital pharmacy setting for several years and really enjoyed it. It was very interesting and challenging. I felt I was helping people without having to do hands-on nursing. It really opened my eyes to what pharmacists and pharmacy techs do and appreciate them so much more. I learned so much about drugs too.

Excuses, excuses, how do you explain other mammals that dont eat other mammals??? How do you explain milions of animals including dogs and cats are being trapped, farm raised and brutally killed for their fur??? If we were meant to wear fur we would be born with fur.. How do you explain the global warming? Do you realize that overproduction of meat contribute to global warming? How do you explain that in America the top killer is not wars, epidemics or natural disaster it is actually eating fat that comes from meat (cholesterol)..If there would be no hunting restrictions people would destroy EVERYTHING (they arleady destroying themeselves or kill them say what ever terminology you prefer by eating high fat cholesterol food and end up with diabetes number two and cardiovascular disease, people relatively young who should be either still working or be relatively active) As a reference I can shoot one example at you...chinchillas- rodents that originate from South America are now on the verge of extinction due to hunting for their fur--see that is what happens when the hunting restrictions are not enforced.I prefer to keep my low cholesterol diet,I dont want to have a gangrene toes by the age I'm 60 or experience shortness of breath while planting my flowers on my retirement.I'm not condemning people who eat meat, just dont be cruel, have limitations and a little bit of heart for the animals.

Would you please start a new thread instead of hijacking this one?
I would do ultrasound or be a pharmacist.

Calm down.
Not everyone that is OK with hunting with "destroy everything" or wear fur and have no heart for animals. Meat of any kind can be part of a BALANCED diet. Good grief. It's not a black or white issue.
I don't wear fur or support the killing of animals for fur, so go give that speech to someone else. Nothing in my post reflected the views you are condemning. Get a grip, please.

Excuse me,go back to my previous reply where I CLEARLY stated that this is not my thread therefore no future replies are warranted, but some other posters decided to give me feedback so I'm replying to their thought..
Relax,it is not that serious.Thread can take many different twists,I see that often happening here on allnurses, dont act like you see this for the first time. But I'm going to do you a favor;please please dont bother to reply to this one, save computer memory instead of trees.
