Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Spring of 2010? Just thought that I would start a group for all of us hopefuls so we could share information and have a way to communicate with each other.
Have you taken your HESI A2 yet? Have you taken all of your pre-reqs? If not, what do you have left to take?
I have taken all of my pre-reqs, and I just took my HESI yesterday. I didn't think it was bad at all, but I prepared for it for about 3 weeks.
If you haven't noticed, TWU has made some slight changes that I think some people will not be happy with. They are taking into consideration the first grade made at pre-req attempts for several of the classes like A&P, micro, and another class. What do you think of this? I wonder how it will change the applicants chances of getting in?
Yes, Houston does. Dallas does as well. I walked through UTA's on Tuesday; it was amazing! They blink and breathe, sweat, vomit. There was one set up like he just went through a car accident and metal was sticking through it's head. VERY interesting. Great learning experience.
that's crazy! i walked through the a&m one when i was there for a student organization meeting, she didn't talk a whole lot about it but mentioned there was one that could have a baby and bleed and urinate! it's crazy to think they can make them do that!
yah, the tour organizer mentioned the ones there are the same ones that are used in the US military for training! The are partnered with some company in Germany that produces the dummies. The ones that don't sweat cost $40,000 each and the ones that sweat and cry cost $70,000 each. The $70,000 ones even have pupils that react to light!! The reason that UTA's is the only one of its kind is because the tour leader said that if there was ever an emergency, the facility is set up like a real hospital with different units, working bathrooms, and real oxygen masks that can work on real humans.
anyways, I have got to get back to patho studying! and still very anxious to learn about TWU!
lol yeah the one with the metal rod sticking through his face... i always play with that mask when im at the smart hospital. i wanted to use that for halloween haha.

Thank you plasma! Thank you all so much! It's a great feeling. I got out of the house and even went to my mom's Pampered Chef party. I was in such a great mood, I booked to have a party myself lol. eeburrah, I am leaning towards UTA at the moment. Leaning (like 20%), but I am not sure. I really need to think long and hard on this, of course, that is if TWU grants me admission.
