I nearly lost my cool this morning...
"and other duties as assigned." i've had that used on me before and i hate it! it seems to me that this phrase gets abused a lot as its original intent is not to make the nurse be the sole person responsible for miscellaneous issues that no one wants to deal with. it should really be "and other duties as assigned within reason and within the realm of the employee's training and background." also... long time lurker, first time poster! hi, guys!

Congratulations! I hope I get in too. I haven't heard yet. In the meantime, I got the official offer for the Graduate Residency. It's for GU Medical Oncology. I'm so relieved that I have at least one offer out of the two so far!

The OR panel was much harder than the GN panel. They kept me on my toes! It's the first interview I've had in which I wasn't quite sure how I did. There were 5 people on the panel. As far as the questions, they asked SO MANY. I estimate it was between 15-20 questions and I don't even really remember what they were. I just remember thinking that there was no way for me to have prepared sufficiently for that. I will say that they definitely do have your resume and letter of intent in front of them and will ask you questions from them. I wish I could be of more help but my head was almost spinning after that interview.

Hi, everyone. I've been lurking around this thread for a while and am anxious to hear back! I was also told to expect an offer on August 2nd but then was told to wait until this coming Friday as they are still working on assignments. Has anyone heard anything else? I also applied for their OR residency and had the panel interview for that yesterday. I hope I get offers for both so that I have a selection to choose from.

i just finished reading that thread a half hour ago. i don't think there's anything else that's helpful there... i did find the whole _me_/.4 bump thing awkward. that thread only goes up to page 39, i think. i hope that princess wannabe girl got into a program.

that's awesome! i suspect there are a number of us with similar plans. i've found that a good amount of potential nurses have higher aspirations than people expect. but first, we must get into nursing. roadblocks, roadblocks...

crna is certified registered nurse anesthetist. programs typically require a couple of years of work experience in order to be eligible to apply. if it's something you think you would be interested in, now would be a good time to start doing your research so that you can gear yourself up for the next 6 or 7 years of your life. financially, it is a very decision to make. nurse anesthetists in houston average between 140k-160k a year, according to salary.com, which is comparable to the salaries of doctors and lawyers.
