TWU Spring 2009

Published

Hello everyone just wanted to see if there were anymore hopeful spring 2009 applicants out there. I submitted my application already and just sitting back waiting till Nov when acceptance/rejection letters are sent out. I know they said for us to check out emails everyday in October. If anyone has been through the application process before please share your experience. Good luck to everyone :wink2:

I have no problem sharing. I'm not "upset", I just got my feelings bruised because it felt like a personal attack since i did get in, and i have been nothing but supportive. I'm over it.

It's awesome that you did get in. We are all looking up to you because we are practically in awe!! I actually feel proud because someone from this discussion did get in. That's cool! :nuke:

Hello

I only applied to Dallas campus.

I got upset the total of thirty minutes and now I am back in the saddle.

Who is applying in December for Fall 09? Applications go online in December and we will go through this whole process again.

Nursing Student31, please understand we want what you have. People a just want to know. You have your work cut out for you for sure.

No one wants you to type out everything for them. Good communication is a must for a great nurse! I was very aware of the bump, do I think it is fair...not .4 worth. You can earn a B and bring your gpa down .6, but earn 3 A's and it doesn't do a whole heck of a lot with only 3 semester hours classes. A bump is given to those who pay for that .4 bump. My GPA and others are earned.

I was told that past application periods I would have gotten in with no problem at all so see it is reachable and obtainable.

Come on everybody take a breath and realize we are here for support.

You know we are Proud of you and for you!

Before I close let me give all of you something to think about.

A great friend of mine wanted to apply to TWU this semester and guess what she did not pass the NET, but her earned GPA no bumps in the equation is a 4.0.

It can be done!

Hey TXWAVE had a great idea about retaking classes, but remember if you take a class in the Spring it will not go towards your next application period which will be for Fall 2009 because the cut off is February 1st, but it will the next application period for Spring admission.

txwave do you know what campus your friend got accepted into?? Glad to hear she has decided to go somewhere else. How about in Dec we start a TWU Fall 2009 thread for all the regular and fast track applicants

It is interesting how they depend on the NET score so much. I don't want to criticize their criteria, but 30 min of reading comprehension testing vs. a 4.0 GPA that took years in the making doesn't make the most sense. At orientation they said that they were changing to a new type of standardized test for Spring 2010. I encourage anyone thinking about this program to study hard for the READING part of the NET. I studied for the math because I don't know how to study reading.

I am going to apply to several other universities for the fall, including TWU. I will probably go broke from all the application fees, but I am going to be a nurse no matter what.

The lady who administered the NET at the Dallas site said the NET corralates as to how well you are going to do in their program and they have stats to back it up so that's why they really look at it. They company who makes the NET is being bought out I think by the same people who make the HESI

That is interesting. It makes more sense now. They said the NET is 10th grade level. They also said you really have to know everything you learn from the core classes in order to be successful in their program.

Hey Princess WannaBe

Lets start our new thread...but I still am praying for you girl!

I would like to make an open apology to Nursing Student31.

I sincerely apologize if I have offended you in anyway. I know without a

doubt you have worked very hard.

I am not here to judge as to why someone got in or why they did not. I was able to talk to my counselor today and got encouraging words and was also able to vent which I was very thankful for.

Rejoice and enjoy your accomplishments!

I started a post already for the TWU Fast Track Program, but you are more than welcome to start another one.

i got in! i just got back from work when i checked the mail and saw the two envelopes--they looked so thin to be anything but rejection letters. i ignored them for the rest room. i mean, why add rejection on a full bladder. i swear i cried and ran into my parents rooms, who were sleeping already, to tell them. i'm in a daze, i was prepared for a rejection. i've been running around trying to get ready for another nursing school's "provisional" admission. at least, i know in this acceptance letter it is a guaranteed admission, barring that i haven't committed a crime that i'm unaware of or been taking an illicit substance, which i haven't because i'm a good citizen:) i hope this isn't a dream. i've been pinching myself because it hasn't set in yet. congrats to those who have been accepted!! for the other hopefuls, i wish you well and don't give up!
