TWU Spring 2014 Applicants

Hey everyone. I just wanted to start a thread for all of those hoping to get into TWU starting Spring 2014. My name is Kia and I have already sent in my application and completed my TEAS V exam. I'll be in the Denton campus patho class this fall (trying to wait patiently for an acceptance letter-GOD willing).

Good luck to everybody because my hope to get in TWU is out of the window. I made a 70% in the Teas so sad. I called TWU and I am not a good candidate to get in TWU because they only want the best, apparently to them I cannot be a good nurse. I am so sad, but I cannot do anything about it. After, reviewing my test I found that I made a lot mistakes in the math section, and it was weird for me because many of the problems I double check the answers. Also, I had a question that was about natural selection and they counted wrong and the answer that I put was right. Someone told me that their test has a lot mistakes and that I can call and tell them to review my test. I do not know what to do? Has anyone found the same problem?

That's ok! That's the way I made it through my A&P 2 class, I practically lived at my friend's

house. I am very determined to make an A in this class. My GPA is a 3.8 with an 84.7 on my TEAS and 4 out of 4 preferences. This will be my first semester at TWU so I will not get the .4 bump.

Great stats! We have very similar stats. I have been at TWU for a year now but I am 6 credits short of the bump no biggie.

I'm sooo nervous! I am applying to UTA and TCC as well, for backup. My stats are

3.78 overall

3.75 science (made a B, in A&P2... :( )

3/4 preferences

I take the TEAS on Saturday. I'm soooo nervous! I took the practive test online and only made a 74.7! Eek!

I take it on Saturday too!! I took the book practice test and made a score of 73%! :(

W can do it! The science portion is what I did awful on! It was way different than what was in the book...

Good luck on your TEAS test to both of you girls! Kia, I look forward to meeting you! Moneca, I am really sorry to hear about your TEAS score and it is scary to think they could have made a mistake in grading your test. I would certainly double check if I were you!

I was number 10 on the waitlist for this Fall and I just got a call saying there's a spot open for me...does anyone know if you have to have finished Hep B shots finished before starting? bc I haven't gotten mine yet...I'm about to call her back again, the first time she didn't answer.

Actually I just looked, and I only have 2 out of 4 preferences. Not 3.... Things aren't looking too good, since that is what seems to weigh the heaviest... :(

Hey guys, may I ask what is ref stat (like 2/4, 3/4.....)

TWU has four classes they want you to get an A in on the first attempt and they weigh pretty heavily in on who they pick. The classes are A&P I and II(lecture and lab both have to be an A to count), microbiology (lecture and lab both have to be an A to count), and statistics.

So when people say 3/4 they mean they got an A in 3 of the four classes on their first attempt.
