  1. Lol. Yeah, she did sound kind of rushed when she was on the phone with me too. She said that it is a paid internship but it's technically a stipend and you get paid $1000 every two weeks. And at the end of the internship, the floor has the option to extend you an offer or not. But she said 98% of the people are offered a contract and accept. The exceptions are people who decline the offer or people who basically called in and or were late a lot and didn't do well during the internship. I think that's pretty much all she said. Oh and the internship starts July 10 and you have to have passed your NCLEX by then.
  2. She called me yesterday to schedule my interview and told me to expect her confirmation email on Friday because she would be sending them out Thursday evening. So if you haven't received the email by tomorrow, I'd call her.
  3. Hi everyone! I recently (Last Thursday) had an interview for PCT in an ED at a local hospital. It was a "group" interview. I put in group in quotations bc there were only 2 of us so I'd hardly consider that a group interview. We interviewed with the Nurse Manager and Nurse educator. She said she would call us back for a second interview once she finished interviewing that week. I got a call about 30 minutes after I left asking me to come back for a Peer panel Interview this Friday but I've checked the status of my application on their site and it says the position has been filled. So I emailed the HR rep who calls and schedules the interviews and asked him if the position was really filled and if I am still scheduled to come in for the peer interview this week. He said the position was filled but they still want me to come in for the peer panel Interview to "see if there is another opportunity in the ER that will be a good fit for you." Has anyone ever had something like this happen to them? I don't understand why they would want me to come in for a second interview if they've already filled the position or why they would fill the position before I even had a chance to do the peer interview. I didn't think I would get the job before I even went into the first interview bc the listing said they wanted experience and I have none but the nurse manager said they love hiring nursing students so that gave me a little hope. But now I have no idea what to expect.
  4. They will count the grade from your most recent attempt but when you took it 6 yrs ago, that counts as your first attempt so you won't get the "preference" for a first attempt A.
  5. I ride the TRE but I know one girl that rides DART. She gets off at the Inwood station and walks. It's like maybe half a mile. Download the "GoPass" app. Its an app for DART/TRE and it has like a trip planner you can use.
  6. They will send out more emails if anyone declines their spot. Any applicants who weren't accepted will get a rejection letter via snail mail. You can call up there and ask what number you are on the wait list and she MIGHT be able to tell you but she may not.
  7. It's not THAT bad. It's doable but it will be tough to get A's. The teacher doesn't do a lot in the ways of teaching...most just reads through the notes at the speed of light. I'm a J1 and in Patho. I wish I had taken it before this semester but I'm surviving. You just to learn time management and be really really good at it.
  8. They take your most recent grade. I asked this question to the admissions coordinator last semester.
  9. I was number 10 on the waitlist for this Fall and I just got a call saying there's a spot open for me...does anyone know if you have to have finished Hep B shots finished before starting? bc I haven't gotten mine yet...I'm about to call her back again, the first time she didn't answer.
  10. Yeah, I applied last year...I took classes this past Spring so I could have the TWU preference (where you take 32 prerequisite hours at TWU)
  11. Don't worry. You should get an acceptance letter soon. When did you send in your transcripts?
  12. Yes, it is like a two step thing. Have you already applied to TWU through ApplyTexas? It normally only takes a few weeks after you get all your transcripts sent in. The deadline for nursing is September 1, yes. So you'll have to be accepted into TWU and have applied to the nursing program on your Pioneer Portal before then.
  13. Yes you have to first apply to TWU and be accepted. Then you pay a separate application fee to apply to the nursing program on your Pioneer Portal.
