TWU Spring 2013 Applicants!

Published

Hello!:yeah:

I know it's pretty early to be starting this forum, but I just wanted to put my voice out there and see if there is anyone else out there hoping to join TWU's nursing program in the spring of 2013? What are you taking this semester (spring 2012), and when are you taking the TEAS-V entrance exam?

After this spring semester of taking microbiology, chemistry, developmental psychology, and statistics, I'll be ready to apply before the September 1st deadline! I'm hoping to take the entrance exam in the summer - probably June or July.

So yeah, I just wanted to see who else was out there!

Yeah, nothing yet. Just thought for sure they pick up more than a few. Could be wrong. Guess I will call monday then and get the details.

The admissions coordinator told me that Dallas doesn't get many declines so it's possible that there really were only a few.

This is awesome! Do you mind if I share it?

No, by all means share the information/link as much as you like.

Does anyone know when the packets will be sent out from designated college of nursing?

I was wondering the same thing... Amber mentioned orientation was going to be on the 7th for the Dallas campus but I haven't gotten anything in the mail yet.

Specializes in Telemetry, Cardiac Step-Down.

I only know that orientation is on the 7th because it's on the TWU website... I haven't received a packet yet either. But I did hear that they should be arriving this week - one of the girls called Denton and they told her that :)

Ok, I thought they started sending them out already. Thanks for keeping us updated Amber, it really helps!!!

No problem! :D

I received my nursing packet from the Houston campus today. January is getting closer. Super Excited.

Pls, do u think i will have a chance getting in? I still have 5 to 6 classes left, govt 1&2, history 1&2, philosophy. i want to take a computer class in d winter mini session. With that i will have the 43 hrs completed. my gpa presently is 3.9. I'v taken all the sciences. Do you all think they look at the number of classes completed?

Having a Bachelors degree and first attempt A's on Micro, Anatomy, and physics get the most weight. Then gpa and TEAS scores. They only look to make sure you have completed enough hours to be able to apply but it doesn't have any weight on acceptance. Good luck!

Hey Guys! Congrats on all the acceptances! The TWU nursing program is very competitive, and it looks like they took even less applicants this semester, so don't be discouraged if you didn't make it this time around.

I'm currently a J1 at TWU Dallas, so if anyone has any questions about anything (teachers/classes/books/supplies/clinicals ect.), just ask! I know I had a TON of questions before and even more so after orientation, so just though I'd let you guys know I'm here lurking ;)

Thanks for the offer Oo10! I will be attending Houston campus, but I was curious what your extra-curricular (clinicals, etc...) schedule looked like this semester (hours per week, frequency, etc...). I am considering picking up a P/T job (as I am quitting my F/T one), and was just curious how doable this may be.
