TWU Spring 2013 Applicants!

Hello!:yeah:

I know it's pretty early to be starting this forum, but I just wanted to put my voice out there and see if there is anyone else out there hoping to join TWU's nursing program in the spring of 2013? What are you taking this semester (spring 2012), and when are you taking the TEAS-V entrance exam?

After this spring semester of taking microbiology, chemistry, developmental psychology, and statistics, I'll be ready to apply before the September 1st deadline! I'm hoping to take the entrance exam in the summer - probably June or July.

So yeah, I just wanted to see who else was out there!

Hi I'm applying for Spring 2013 at the Houston campus. This semester I'm taking AP II, Sociology, College Algebra, Govt, and Hist. I'm taking those other classes that aren't required for other schools that i'm applying to. I plan on taking the TEAS this Summer as well hopefully in June I bought a study guide book for it.

Next Fall I'll be taking pathophysiology to take a load off of my first semester of nursing school.:specs:

Hi Erica!

I thought about taking pathophysiology in the fall too, but I'll be taking a full course load in the fall so I wasn't sure I wanted to add that into my load as well. It would be really helpful to have that out of the way for the first semester of nursing school!

Hey guys! I'm a Fall 2012 applicant for the Houston campus. I don't know where you are currently taking pre-reqs but pathophysiology from a community college will not transfer in. It has to be an upper division (junior/senior) level course for it to be considered. This is what I've been told for TWU and UT. Others had told me you can take it online from UTA. But even though lower division patho won't transfer many people recommend taking it to be a step ahead. Anyway just wanted to share what I had learned and didn't want you to take an extra course that wouldn't transfer! Best of luck to you guys! I hope we all get in!

Hi! Yes, it would be helpful. I'll be taking it at the Denton campus, so I'm pretty sure it will transfer to TWU. I'm also applying to UTHSC Houston. Best of luck to you both!

I plan on applying for Sp13 at Dallas. I just applied to TWU so I can have my transcripts evaluated so I know whether or not my philosophy course and Music course will be accepted for the nursing program. This semester I'm taking Anatomy, Micro, Chem, and Stats. Then in the summer I'll be taking Physiology, Math, Nutrition and Lifespan. I'm excited to apply, and will be taking the teas probably early-mid July

Thanks for the info! If I take it in the fall, I'm going to be taking it from the TWU Denton campus, so I should be good :o

WOW your Spring semester sounds like it's going to be tough! Good luck on your last classes! :lol2:

Awesome! I wish I was at a university so I could take the upper division course and transfer it in! That would be such a huge help that first semester! If you guys can I encourage you to knock that out! I wish you guys the best of luck this semester and hope all of your classes go well!

Tell me about it! but I'm so readyyyy for school to begin this Tuesday. I'm ready to take this semester head on and ace them all! I just copied over 200 pages from my textbooks and made my own little book. Better then lugging around three hugs science books every day. I hope we all do well this semester and I'm sure this thread will be booming when this semester gets closer to the end and everyone's preparing to apply

Yeah I'm so excited for the start of classes!! What a great idea with copying the textbooks...I know what you mean about lugging all those books around. I'm sure we'll all do splendidly this semester. At this point I'm starting to think more about the TEAS-V and hoping I do really well on that! I think I'll start studying for that early this semester.

Yea I put them in a binder and its so lightweight. I'm kind of nervous about the teas v but I'm not going to make it a big deal. I'm gonna treat it like the SATS n do my best. I've heard the most difficult pt would be a&p. If its true I'm glad I'm taking them right before the test so it'll be fresh info. Which campus will you be applying for?

Yeah, that's exactly why I'm glad I'm taking Chem before the teas-v, because I'm worried about that section the most I think, lol. I'll be applying to the Dallas campus. You?
