TWU Spring 2013 Applicants!

Hello!:yeah:

I know it's pretty early to be starting this forum, but I just wanted to put my voice out there and see if there is anyone else out there hoping to join TWU's nursing program in the spring of 2013? What are you taking this semester (spring 2012), and when are you taking the TEAS-V entrance exam?

After this spring semester of taking microbiology, chemistry, developmental psychology, and statistics, I'll be ready to apply before the September 1st deadline! I'm hoping to take the entrance exam in the summer - probably June or July.

So yeah, I just wanted to see who else was out there!

Yea I put them in a binder and its so lightweight. I'm kind of nervous about the teas v but I'm not going to make it a big deal. I'm gonna treat it like the SATS n do my best. I've heard the most difficult pt would be a&p. If its true I'm glad I'm taking them right before the test so it'll be fresh info. Which campus will you be applying for?

Yeah, that's exactly why I'm glad I'm taking Chem before the teas-v, because I'm worried about that section the most I think, lol. I'll be applying to the Dallas campus. You?

Same here, Dallas. I didn't know chem was on the teas. Good thing I'm taking it this semester also. Everything will be fresh. I'm excited for next spring to roll around. it'll be here before we know it. At least we have classes to keep us busy.

Does anyone know if we can mail official transcripts that we have? I ordered a few extra transcripts and keep them on hand so when I'm ready to apply I don't have to wait for the colleges to send them to twu. I was going to put all the letters in one big envelope and send them together.

I saw on twu's website "Printed transcripts must be sent to TWU directly from the institution or delivered personally in a sealed envelope from the institution. " so I just wanted to confirm

You are able to mail transcripts into TWU. I am applying to the Houston campus and they allowed me to send mine in via mail even though they were addressed to me! Just make sure that the official seal is on the envelope and that they are not opened! I hope this helps!

I will be applying for the spring 2013 at the Dallas campus, I'm a bit nervous, time is flying by so quickly. This semester of spring 2012 I'm taking AP 1 and chemistry. After this semester I will only have AP 2 left and I'm hoping to take my TEAS-V entrance probably around early or mid july-just whenever I'm done with AP 2. I've heard so many different things from different people about the selection process, just a bit overwhelmed noww :uhoh21:. I'm just hoping to do well on my TEAS test. There are so many study guides out there and different people who study with diff. study guides all score differently. But anyways im glad you started this forum early, i'm sure as time comes near we all will have many questions. I don't know how hard it is to get in, I've heard GPAs from 4.0 to 3.7 to even 3.0 get in and even scores of TEAS of 64's get in. AHH this is so crazy!! I Just wish they would stick to one criteria!! :icon_roll Anyways good luck to you for this semester. hope you do well!! :D

Hello all,

I'm planning to apply to TWU-Houston spring 2013 too. I finished all my pre reqs at hcc last semester. I tried applying for Prairie View for this Fall 2012, but got disqualified. :( To those that are trying to apply to PV make sure to read the instructions carefully and be on top of your stuff because they are very messy. I'm currently studying for TEAS V right now, I will be taking it in a few weeks. I'm also trying to get into Coleman this Fall so I could at least get Pharmacology out of the way. And i'm going to all to other nursing schools around Houston. Good luck to all future nurses :)
